Lookin' for advise
I just bought a p226 and Im looking for an high grade holster. I want to know if some of you have the CQC serpa holster from BHI and what you think about it. Im also considering the good old safariland 6004 holster . But which should I take they're about the same price range.
Thx for your help guys.

Try the Blade-Tech's new thigh holster. Sounds very similar to the 6004 with an added feature: positive retention. Thumb break becomes "semi-optional", meaning that for most applications you probably won't need the thumbreak unless you're going airborne.
6004 is decent, but the leg straps leave something to be desired. |

I just want BHI to make one for a high capa. At $240 for a WE Hi-Capa from Tru a piece, they're almost disposable.

Holster material and thickness is a significant factor when it comes to concealed carry. In this respect, kydex/poymers are the way to go, but for outdoorsy activities you can go either cordura or kydex/polymer.
I've only used the BHI Serpa holster on the belt and it works well enough for me in that configuration. I have reservations about wearing it on the thigh rig though. I can see the release paddle being inadvertently depressed by gear, foliage, lying on your side etc. The other rigs mentioned previously should work for you. But no matter which one you choose, attach a lanyard to your pistol. Murphy's Law you know. |

I have no experience with the SERPA. I've heard mixed things about them. I think the first ones had some problems, but that's only going by what I've read on other forums. Quote:
