MkVI helmet cover
Okay, I'm back with a new question. This time it's about my MkVI helmet cover.
So here's what I've got: one MkVI kevlar helmet in outsize (the biggest) and one MkVI helmet cover in outsize. My problem comes when fitting the cover to the helmet, it goes on very tight! I've read the label and put it on damp and it's still tight! Right now the drawstring barely gets over the edge of the helmet. So I'm wondering if I can either expand the cover further or maybe, somehow, acquire an XXL cover from some custom maker. *No I can't get a smaller helmet, my head is huge.

put the helmet cover on...Get an OD face viel... pull the face viel tight over the helmet... then get a black rubber band (black tape works) and wrap around the edge of the helmet. it replaces the draw string. This is a para helmet.. way better then a stupid 'crap hat' helmet :-D
look at this picture.... http://www.teambravo.com/extra/para.jpg |

It is a very common problem, basically a design flaw. The cover tends to shrink once it gets older. Your only solution is to do what a lot of Brit soldiers did - put a rubberised band around the edge of the helmet to hold the cover in place.

Its not a solution. It's something Only Paras do... If hats do it they are not well liked and usually get squared away. :-D |

I'll probably be going into Dave's in a week for some mesh, until then I'm gonna just pull it tight and look for some NBC boots to cut up.
