Fixing Boot Damage
I have a pair of leather boots that have had their toes bashed a bit. Some of it is slight abrasion some of it is "dents" or little chunks out of the toe.
Any ideas on reparing this so that it will dissapear when I put a coat of polish over the areas? Right now it shows through, especially when I put a shine on them. Thanks in advance. |

Bring them to your local leather worker or shoe repair shop? If there's enough leather he might be able to just plane it down a bit. If it's an old pair of work boots ask him to apply some textured rubber or somthing similar over the toes.

Another way to work it in yourself, is to a small knife (x-acto knives work) and scrape out a little mound of boot polish, then press it into the holes/nicks/cuts and work it in with a polishing cloth. If you want you can heat it up with a lighter to melt it into the hole better.
It doesn't work for all damage, but it's a start. |

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I'll give the polish a try, if not I go to the cobbler.
