It's been my experience that Milsig is overpriced, and has poor (post purchase) customer service.

Well I think I would rather buy a higher quality used gun than a lower end new one anyway. The problem is, even though I am very capable mechanically, I am still on the steep part of the learning curve when it comes to airsoft.

unless you know the entire history of the gun and the owner of it, I can't recommend buying used. The risk of buying someone else's problem is too great. Airsoft guns break, it's a fact of life. There are lots of gun techs and purported gun techs out there that just throw money at a gun and and when it doesn't work, they dump it on the used market.

The tolerances in manufacture on airsoft guns and parts is so varied, a good fit among parts is never guaranteed unless the builder really knows the parts involved. It's not rocket science, but spending premium money on a used gun and being stuck with a temperamental gun is frustrating, as is spending time/money to try and get it working better. I have several personal horror stories on buying used/preupgraded guns, and as a result of which, I ended up getting decent at building guns for people, but at the expense of a gun that I ended up replacing with a whole new one after spending a ridiculous amount of time to get working right.

As a new player, I would recommend you buy new to avoid all of that, and if you are inclined to learn about upgrading and repairing your own, do it as your gun breaks down over usage. You will at least have a baseline for how the gun is supposed to perform vs how it was performing when it went down and what you would prefer to improve as you get more play time under your belt.

I have never actually been into Trigger because they keep odd store hours!

I would like to get access to the classifieds here...will have to get verified I guess...

Pretty standard? Not in the retail industry! I understand that it is more of a specialty market, but it does make it harder to do business with them. I did end up buying from them, but it took planning to make it happen. During the week if I want to go out there after work it forces me to fight through rush hour traffic, and that got me there near closing, and as 7pm approached we felt we were being rushed out the door. On Saturdays I prefer to get shopping done in the morning so I can get on with my day. 1pm opening is far from convenient. At least I know that Badlands And Milsig are open during normal business hours if I feel like browsing for accessories or picking up supplies.

Is this info regarding VFC? I'm almost pushing the button on a Saber CQB. : )
