KWA MP7 trigger won't return after being pulled

I changed out the hop up rubber on my KWA MP7 and reassembled the gun. Now when I pull the trigger it stays to the rear. I'm pretty sure the trigger is properly installed in the right position because I removed the inside of the gun and installed the trigger the same way to test it. The gun dry fired and oddly enough the trigger returned to its resting position like normal.

I can manually pull the trigger forward and it will dry fire again after cocking. It is almost like the trigger transfer bar is rubbing against the walls of the inside of the receiver. I took a little bit of material off the outside of the bar to test this theory but nothing changed. :banghead: I really can't figure out what the hell changed in the gun upon reassembly but its unusable right now.

Any suggestions?

You only think you did it right. Something is upside down/backwards.

Get a big exploded view. Take it all apart completely and re-assemble slowly and completely checking each part vs. the image as you do.

I didn't take much apart. The transfer bar popped off and the spring with it but I've replaced them as they should be.

The tail end (towards the butt) of the transfer bar looks like it is supposed to sit in the notch of the copper coloured arm and it does. There is quite a bit of play in that part and I'm not sure if it is supposed to be in a specific orientation. Now reassembly video even addresses this play they pop it in and slide the assembly into the shell and voils.

Hmm think what Danke is suggesting is that if it was fine before hand, and now it's not after you reassembled it, something went wrong..

Maybe just take a break from it, go tomorrow with a fresh mind, and start from scratch, take it all apart and put it back together.

Yeah I thought that as well. I tried it again a couple of times over the weekend with the same result. I will try again with the assembly outside of the shell then again inside.

If I can't get it to run I will have to bring it the Dr.

Maybe you be missing a small spring or some kind of small part? I know trigger boxes are famous for having small ass pieces that fling out, so just get a fresh start and try again at a later date.

It's the spring on that trigger that makes it behave like that

There were a few issues. I hadn't aligned the underside of the transfer arm spring properly.

It also suffered from an apparently common issue in that the semi sear was so worn that it would shoot one round then nothing. Replaced both semi and auto sears as well as the trigger spring and it runs perfectly now.

Can't say enough about the KWA Proshop. Reasonable prices and very quick shipping.
