btw the legal limit for a firearm for the purpose of license and registration is 500 f.p.s. AND 5.8 joules of muzzle energy. both criteria must be met. if you have a gun that shoots 900 f.p.s. with .12g bb let's say but does not have 5.8 joules of muzzle energy, it's not a regulated firearm. period!!!

they very well can be. it's a grey area with no special recognition given for the unique nature of airsoft in the firearms act. our cfo for b.c. and alberta considers them replicas and the cfc does as well. remember back to the tm ban last year. it has since been deleted from the cfc fact sheets, but you try to import one and see what customs says. if it comes into vancouver and you don't have a F.B.L to import replicas it's seized and gone forever. we've been fighting a seizure with those guys since dec/04. and that's with the proper license in place. read the act and then look at an aeg and see how it falls directly into the replica category. then go to the cfc site and call up the fact sheet for "airguns" and the archived fact sheet for "replica firearms" then see how it does not fall into the cfc definiton of replica. one govt. department says "no they're prohibited" while another says "they MAY be prohibited, but not necessarily" while yet customs says "we think they're prohibited, but it's not our job to find out, so let's seize it and let a judicial tribunal sort it out". so is it really prohibited or not? that's the big question that has no definite yes or no answer. it's that simple (ha ha ha).

i say have at er who the fuck cares about the canadian gouvenment as long as your not manufacturing them and selling all legalitys aside no one fromt he cfc or rcmp has any reason to come knocking on your door asking you about anything any more than if u had a tm gun. no offence to anyone on this site but some people get to wraped up in the "this is not legal" crap. if your treating it like any other gun then dont worry about it

i totally agree with PTE. Pyle, as long as he does run around and shot ppl with, whos to know if its a custom homemade gun or not, asides from avide gun enthusiasts. its not like the police or any other level of law enforcment is going to know about it, and storm into his house saying you cant do that. so its just like any other airsoft gun out there, as long as he is respectful of the gun, ie. not shoting random ppl, and just uses it for gaming purposes, then hell, i say go for it, and good luck in making it.

Fascist States are worse, so thank the dear Lord that you live in a "somewhat" socialist country.
