Cancom Headset compatibility

Hey all,

I'm looking at getting two products:

http://www.cancomradioaccessories.com/viewproduct/64
http://www.cancomradioaccessories.com/viewproduct/89

What I'm wondering is if these would work with a puxing radio. Ive heard that real sordins and such need to be rewired. Can anyone provide some insight?

The reason that Sordins need to be rewired, is because the mic's impedence is too high.
The specs in the link, show that the mic is 2,000 ohms. I don't know what the impedence is for the puxing, though. If you take a look around google, try find out if the impedence matches up between the puxing and this earpiece. If they match up, then you should be golden.

Cancom is a Canadian company, and although I've never dealt with them, I doubt that they'll have any problems with you contacting them to ask if the piece and PTT will work in a puxing.
Another Canadian company is SRS Tactical, and they're a great company. They swapped the mic on my own pair of Sordins. If you email them, you'll probably talk to Steve, who is VERY helpful in answering questions. If the mic doesn't work out, SRS may be able to swap it for you (but I have no idea how the bone mics work inside the piece).

Oh, on a side note, you may want to put some thought into an in-ear model. If you have in-ear ear buds for your MP3 player, try play for a day with one in your ear.
The sweat can make it gross, and with it being in your ear, your ear cannal can get irritated. If it falls out of your ear and you drag it through the mud, anything that you don't get scraped off, will end up back in your ear.

An over-one-ear headset may be more comfortable in the long run (not the ear-pro style like Sordins). Yes, you'll have and ear cup pressed against the side of your head, but it'll be breathable, and won't get super irritating in your ear.
