There are some people that have gotten great performance out of their rifles using RA Tech parts, but I have never met anyone who got it there without a ton of work needed to get things to mesh right, including myself.
I had an M4 I literally built from scratch out of WE receivers and RA Tech internals - all newest Gen stuff at the time of purchase. Even after using spacers to shorten the bolt cycle, making some filing adjustments to the bolt carrier, bolt stop, nozzle, shimming things, and fiddling with the trigger assembly; I could never get the bolt to lock on empty. Everything else worked beautifully on the gun, but never the bolt stop. Simply threw in WE parts, including a new and unmodified WE bolt stop and functioned exactly the same - at excellence, except, the bolt stop now worked, with zero modification aside from one gearbox shim for tightness. Cycle also felt crisper, less sluggish, and gas efficiency seemed better because the discharge was pushing a lighter bolt. The same was true with my SCAR.
Simply rule to follow: if it ain't broke, don't fix/upgrade it.
