New bucking for M-14

Hey everyone,

Im new to the sport and was wondering if any of y`all could help me out.
I just got my first Airsoft rifle (a CYMA M-14) and i want a bit more accuracy on it, and from my research i found out a inexpensive way to do it is by changing the bucking.

Any idea`s on which one to get?, i also heard that combinations work well but i don`t know what combinations there talking about.

Any help would be great,
Thanks!!

I had very good luck with Lonex 70D buckings in my Cyma M14. I would recommend Maple Leaf, but they're hard to tune if you're not used to them.
Some other tips include teflon taping the barrel, and using 0.25g bbs (for that specific gun)

In terms of easy - I've had the best experience with the Modify baton rubber and flat hop that comes with it. It's pretty good for a simple upgrade.

Just a warning, the M14 needs a shorter hopup rubber than usual, so that just involves cutting off a bit from the back with an exacto knife. to measure, just place it side by side with the original one.

Like Bakasaur said - teflon tape helps and do anything to help stabilize the inner barrel so it doesn't move around.

I use .30g in mine. Always use high quality BBs too.

^Modify rubber works fairly well, however I'd recommend getting a Prometheus bridge tensioner instead of using the existing flat hop tensioner. The bridge tensioner will have to be cut at both ends to match the barrel window length, but this will give you the best possible hop up setup without R-hopping your gun.

Teflon tape is used to seal threading, not to patch over leaks. It also wears away and degrades very quickly. Use some thick teflon grease between the hop up rubber and barrel, then tie the rubber to the barrel. That way you get a permanent 100% seal. Not super easy, but not very difficult, there are probably videos on how to do it on Youtube.

I would recommend the bridge tensioners only to people who have a bit of experience with doing their own tech work. It's one of those systems where if it's installed even a bit crooked, your shots will go all wonky.

PDI W hold buckings are also really good.

I personally use the bridge tensioner as well. Pestobanana is right when he says it's second to an r-hop. Very effective.

Cutting it for an M14 is definitely tricky business though. So if you go that route, be very careful and use a sharp knife, otherwise the flat nub that comes with the modify fits the hop up perfectly with no modification, and will definitely give you a huge accuracy boost
