I'm surprised nobody has tried starting with an ICS CXP. Looks fairly similar.

Been thinking about building one myself and I think I found some parts, and websites to get them for a build of this, felt like sharing them for opinions.

Personally I think that these parts are pretty close to the actual honey badger design, the only thing I think may be a problem is mounting that stock, but its not a big hurdle, just some modifications. Any opinions or ideas?

I actually built one as well, but it ended up have a HK spin to it. I started with a Umarex HK416c.

The recently announced Ares Amoeba honey badger piqued my interest in this gun. Another similar honey badger gun is Krytac's Trident PDW (http://blog.airsoftcommunity.de/iwa-...ent-aeg-series). Just replace the rail and the outer barrel with a long suppressor and longer keymod rail and it would be really close to the real steel version.

I am really interested to see where the battery is placed. I personally do not like the look of PEQ boxes and I hope Ares and Krytac found a better solution

The new ares almost got the look of the long handguard honeybadger out of the box

wow, that was disappointing. 1- it's an ARES, 2- instead of making a lower and upper both with a recess for the stock, nope.. standard lower with a upper that has added material instead of actually having a proper recess.
so it's a wanabe badger with a wide as fuck stubby stock.
oh well, moving on.

here's the real deal for a better comparison.

Just finished my build the other day. Like the OP - my blood, sweat, and tears went into this build. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong - lol.

Worth it though. Learned a lot along the way.

This version has the JP Rifles hand guard. It's front wired with a 1500Mah 70c 7.4v in the PEQ. Considering getting a longer outer barrel and reversing the silencer like previously suggested in the thread. With this, I could fit quite a large nunchuk battery in there I figure

Oh and I'm totally aware there's no front site on it yet.

That looks great! Better than the real thing in my opinion. Love those JP handguards
