Re-bodied / Upgraded KJW MK1

Good Afternoon everyone,

I've been working on a small project, and I was wondering if anyone in the community would be interested in it. My personal goal was to make the ideal airsoft sidearm; said sidearm being quiet, gas efficient, high velocity and of course accurate. I chose the KJW MK1 as my base, as it already has an absurdly high velocity so it can be modified from stock form to meet the rest of my criteria. I have the frame and most of the upper body measured, modeled and ready for a 3D printed prototype to make sure all of the measurements are proper.

Once the prototype has been finalized, I plan on having the lower, upper and barrel assembly machined out of either aluminum or stainless steel - depending on the price. The barrel will be replaced with a stainless steel tight bore, internal parts properly seated and aligned on machined rather than cast surfaces, and cleaned up. I plan on looking at the heavy weight trigger pull on these as well to see if there is any significant room for improvement.

I'd just like some general thoughts / comments on the project. I have creative control on the design, so I can change virtually anything on the body to match it to the consumers requests. Trigger guard, draft angles, barrel and all of that stuff is easily changed.

Is this something anyone is interested in, or will I be completing this project to have something unique and special for myself.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My current lower model, measured from the actual MK1

Integrated light and laser combo with the ability to turn one or the other on and both at the same time.

Also make sure that fps is controllable, 350 for indoor and 400+ for outdoor without the need to buy some stupid npas that you constantly have to keep re adjusting.

Pretty cool. I love my KJW Mk1 except for the crappy plastic, no barrel options and super hot shooting.
Depending on price I would be interested. Love how quiet it is!

the major problem with this pistol is it's trigger pull, its both long and stiff, it hinders accuracy if one does not have a steady hand !. I have ethe carbine tho, its flipping fun as hell

Bit of a coincidence, I'm looking to pick up a Socom Gear Oasis. If you're making a npas or parts for a lighter trigger pull, I'd be interested in them if the prices are reasonable.

Before you do anything did you jump through all the hoops to make sure you are not going to get a knock on the door from WRPS/RCMP because you have been manufacturing firearms?

What warderp said, an Airsoft gun is still considered a firearm in Canada (uncontrolled).

You, or the shop you have manufacture the parts for should make sure you are 100% in the green legally before even thinking about this.

Anyways, sounds like an awesome project.

Where I work we do 3d printing and product development, I'm sure I could get you a decent price if you don't have access to a printer !

SuperCriollo, that would be fantastic. I will let you know when I finish developing the model.

Thanks for the input so far, I will definitely be looking into the legality of this before proceeding with manufacturing of any kind.

I'm really happy to see that there is some interest out there!
