PSG-1 and Alternatives

Hey there,

I've been trying out a variety of guns lately, and I've been thinking about some kind of sniper rifle. There are a coupe of models I'm interested in (the SVD looks super cool), but the PSG-1 has always stood out to me. I'm a big HK fan. That said, the TM PSG-1 is the only one I've seen, and it seems woefully underpowered for a sniper rifle.

Are there any other, higher powered PSG-1 models out there? Or is there a simple way to get more power out of the TM model?

You could buy a g3 and PSG-1 it up. Then you could do more upgrades to it. Make it look like a SR9 (TC)

If you want a sniper rifle stick with spring or gas, but mostly spring. If you're going to have a long cumbersome and slow shooting weapon, then you want it to be accurate.

Fair enough. Maybe I'll try out some spring guns. Or just go for the SVD.

You could always Polarstar a PSG-1 (if you have the money).

How high-powered do you want to go?
If you know what you're doing, you can get an AEG to do 600fps. (not to say you should...)

No, nothing that crazy. 400-450 would be ideal.

120-130 spring should put you in there. A well prepped v2 gearbox with sorbo and a good motor to pull the spring and you're set. Which means you could do it with a g3 if you want.

You can make an AEG plenty accurate, expecially with a long inner barrel like that. Not to mention you have a weapon capable of putting a few rounds down range fast, if you need to, in the relatively short ranges of airsoft.

Spring rifles are the most accurate, but you'll have to invest a fair bit of money in them, and in the end, only have a rifle that's very good at one thing
