TM SOCOM Mk23 NBB Leaking Mag

Good day all you gun doctors.

I have a NBB SOCOM that I bought and one of the mags is leaking really bad. This is one I bought second hand with the gun. Not sure if it is fixable but here is a simple diagram that I have that shows where it is leaking from. Any and all tips would be great as I would like to get this mag back up and running as it would be nice to have 3 working mags for this ole sniper!

ok.. there are probably pins holding that bottom on... looks like it form the diagram... knock those out... and grease up the oring that the bottom comes with. and reassemble. If that doesnt work, then i dunno.

You'll have to drill out a blocking pin on the bottom to get the bottom plate off. Be careful not to drill too deep as you will come into the gas space area if you are not careful. Pull the bottom plate off and either replace the O ring, soak it overnight in silicone oil till it swells (temp fix), or jb weld or silicone (my preference) around the bottom seal to make a good seal. It's super easy to do and takes about 15 minutes to do. I've done it to all of mine, leaking or not. I've done this to my mags 2 1/2 years ago and they are all still working perfectly after tons of use.

Now would this also work for the KJW M700 magazine as well. There are 4 screws on the back that has an oring in there as well. If I silicone it shut there won't be any problems? Also the blocking pin you speak of is it on the side of the magazine near the bottom with the other two pins...if so how deep is it about.

That stuff works great stalker.

The pin on the mag is just the width of the wall of the mag, just a few mm. Don't worry, it's hard to mess it up.

The KJW mags can be fixed by either using the gasket maker, silicone, replacing the o ring, or by simply turning the existing oring around.

Ya, the stuff DOES work great.

One thing about the M700 mags, a couple months after I got mine, it started leaking from the back. Turned out to just need the screw tightened, that fixed it even til this day. One of my spare mags I shot dry (gas) over a weekend, didn't have any propane left, got another bottle of it 3-4 day later. I filled the mag and it leaked badly, and the screws were still tight. So leaving the mag a few days without any gas in it caused it to leak. Case in point, always leave gas in the mag, even just a bit.

I want to say thanks for this thread. I have an Mk23 with two leaking mags and the tip to drill the third pin out was great. With this tip I was able to repair the mags. I searched a tip like this one in many german forums, but i wasn't able to find something.
