VLTOR side mount bipod
I just bought a set of VLTOR Tango Down side mount bipod.
Its the airsoft knock off as opposed to the real steel counterpart. I mounted both and noticed immediately that it wasn't a proper fit, the metal that houses the bearings on the left side must have been put in the wrong way at the factory. I disassembled it and found it to be normal, aside from the bearings being out of whack. I'm normally pretty handy to fix my parts. I began filing down contact points, altering the rail and I'm considering taking a heat gun and forming the problematic arm. I'm considering just going to the retailer and asking to see another set before I buy again, due to altering it I cant return it. Has anyone encountered this? If so how did you approach fixing it? |

Man thats a really wierd, and with respect, kinda ugly bipod to begin with.
Do you have more pics? It seems the base mounting unit is the part thats off? Take pics with them off and placed side to side comparing critical features of both the pivot and the legs if they can be disassembled. From this photo, although it may be an angle issue, the top pivot looks more raised than the bottom pivot. That or the legs are not bent the same in chiral terms. No offence taken, to each their own.
I had taken side views but my images failed when I tried to upload, it was a very drastic difference. I took my file to it again and its sitting flush and flat on the ground. I dont think I'll be buying the cheapo parts anymore |
