Troy Battle Ax Stock: Battery Size?

Looking for a rear battery storage option that allows batteries larger than buffer tube size and unwilling to use a M16/full stock or a battery bag. I'm also aware of the G&P marine stocks, but I'm more interested in the Troy stock.
So: How big of a battery CAN you fit in it? The ones they suggest are not much bigger than buffer tube, if at all, but it doesn't really seem like they're too tight in there with the videos I've seen.
I'm only looking to run 11.1V. What battery are you using in yours?
Also if possible: what would you estimate to be the largest possible battery that could fit?
