Beginner in Canada

Hello all
My name is Pavle and I am from Serbia. I am an airsoft veteran here who has been true thick and thin and know very well what airsoft is....

But the problem is that I am moving to Canada on 6th of september. Airsoft is one of my greatest passions and i need to prepare my self so not to lose time when i get to Toronto

Any advice, club and field recommendations? It would be of great help Or maybe even advice how to start my own club

maybe some diferent rules in canada i should know about.

First off welcome!
Seccondly where abouts in canada are you moving to. Thatll help us help you.
As far as rules and stuff. Here in ontario we run 400fps for outdoor 350 for indoor and bolt action sniper rifles are permited 450 fps.

By joining ASC you have baisically joined the biggest club there is for airsoft in canada.
By watching the boards here you can find out about events and meet people.
There is also a section for teams and such so you can look into those in your area as well.
As far as buying guns you will have to get aged verrified befor we can point you in the right direction. There is a thread on how to get verified if you search.
Im sure you can use your google skills and find some places to buy and being an experienced player im sure you alrdy know what kind of junk to avoid and have an idea of whay you should be buying.

First thing first thank you so much for your speedy answer

I am comming to toronto with my girlfriend to studdy at Toronto Film School... So i know that it is Toronto but the job of home hunting still awaits us

Now the thing about airsoft is that me personaly am not an Arcade player... I live for milsim... just las weekend we had 36h milsim here in serbia.. been to 2 milsims in croatia. 2 in hungary. Longest one was 48hours... Thats what im looking for... long games and good milsim clubs who take airsoft and missions very seriously.

True milsim is still a relatively new idea in Canada compared to the rest of the world. We have had a lot of 24h+ games in the past few years that have gone quite well.

There is definitely a growing interest in getting more hardcore with them though, the Nightfall series of games hosted by Force Recon are getting there fast too. The recent Nightfall 2 was an amazing game.

There is a 30 hour event coming up in august too.

Well most of us have a semi relaxed attitude towards airsoft. That doesnt mean we dont take it seriously but we do try to keep in mknd it is just a game.
That said there are grouos of guys who are more serious then others.

There are skirmish type games but they are far from video games if you go to the right places.
We (meaning the team i will be playing with for an upcoming milsim) hlrecently had a 24hr training event. During that event we didnt rest for more then 20 minuts at a time and only once or twice to reload and hydrate.
We are preparing for a 30hr event coming up.
We also have a 12 hr event comming soon as well.
Just this passed saturday we had a game (rush hour. Its the 4th in the series)
Tho the nubers werent great (we had 5 on 5 due to flakers for the long weekend) we went non stop from 10am to 3pm untill all objectives wer secure and the final objective was transported to the extraction point. It could have went longer but both teams hustled and went hard and we finnished early.
At finch field (where i play most often) even the "skirmish" games are more milsim oriented going from 10-5 or 6 or whenever the objectives are compleate and im sure it is the type of game you would enjoy. Dont getvke wrong i enjoy skirmish games now and then (capture the flag. King of the hill. VIP escort. Those types of things) but i to enjoy the milsim type events more.
The games at finch field i have mentiond befor are reffered to as "skirmsims" so a combo of misim and skirmish. For the most part they are kilsims that are just shorter then the average milsim (useually from 8-12 hours)

In past few years i was at Border War, Berget And Housekeeper

Beleave it or not, berget this year will be, or it was, not shure since i didnt go this year, is a 5 day event with over 3000 people

I was also part of a team creating a milsim here in Serbia... i know how it is to be at the begining of spreading a milsim idea we did 3 in our organization an had 2 more organized by other teams

But our bigest problem is separating arcade player from milsim players couse people dont realize that it is not all about shooting... it is about a mission..

It woud be great for some teams from Serbia to make contact with teams in canada and that is also my wish when i cross the narrow see More international games, more experiance, more acceptance And above all good friendship

Yep. Thats the whole point of airsoft!

Fotuneately the arcade type players dont really sign up to the milsim games, not that none do but most of them see 24hrs and are like no thanks.
Most of us who do play milsim games have done so for many years and have the lvl of commitmemt to stick it out and stay on task.
A good example is the game this past saturday. We had 2 or 3 fire fights all day. 2 wer "planned" as in game controll radiod us and instructed we set up an ambush to prevent the other team reaching their next objective. And the same was done to the other team to prevent us reaching ours.
There was one period of contact early in the game but i instructed my guys to bug out, regroup and take another route to our objective. I ran point most of the day and at anytime i seen contact i rerouted my guys to avoid a fire fight and focus on the next objective.
Then at the end of the day as we had seccured the final objective (a box full of bacon. Hard to explain if ya havent played the series) we moved it within 200 feet of the extraction and wer overrun by the opposing team. They seccured the bacon and moved it to the extraction seccuring the win. Both teams did a great job through the day and tho my side didnt win we all came away winners in our ambushes. We wer neck in neck all day compleating the objectives and at the end we dilivered the bacon to the other team providing them an easy fanal push to the finnish. And in the end they graciously sharred the bacon with us anyhow and we all had good stories to swap around the BBQ afterwards.
This is they tyoe of hard fighting and good fun we try to bring to all the games we play at.
Like any sport you get the odd asshat but we weed em out quickly and they dont last long in out tight knit community.

I tottaly get that i had somewhat of a same expiriance this saturday 50 km and one contact provoked by the opfor couse they were coming out way and could not be avoided

Hope you guys will let me join when i come to see how you do it over there so i can get a feeling ow how things work Anyway i like what im seeing here and cant wait really

When you do get here keep an eye for games at finch field. Im at almost all of em and can loan you a gun till you get your kit sorted out.

Out of curiosity have you made sure all your kit and guns are good to import? Canada has strict laws and they need to be given the respect they deserve when moving from another country.

Oh I am not planing on bringing my kit with me.... if i tried it would cost me a lot couse it would not fit in to 3 suitcases ... i will only bring my uniformes Rest is staying behind and i am planing on buying the rest when i come over there So importing wont be a problem... but now that you asked... can i bring my cadpat?
