Replacement shrink wrap for AK stick batteries.

Hello all,

Not really a technical issue, rather looking for the right product. I have several AK stick batteries that need replacement shrink wrap due to damage. It is a brittle material so not unexpected. I have bought shrink wrap off of eBay and from Hobby King but it is too soft and too thick.

Can anyone point me towards a source of clear, thin, "stiff" shrink wrap that is used for AK stick batteries?

Any and all help much appreciated.

Thank you.

I know you can hunt around (or visit a hobby store) to try and find the right stuff....but I used CanPost packing tape to patch one up in a pinch a long time ago.

Got to a battery store. They'll have the big shrink wrap that is a micro film instead of the thicker stuff like you get in a car parts place.

PVC battery shrink wrap! I was not familiar with the correct term. Found some the right size on eBay and just ordered. If it turns out to be the right stuff I will post the link. Thank you.

Yes, this is the right term. Have you figured out how to measure the correct size for you pack?

Yes I have, as far as diameter goes. 25' of 32mm tubing with a 0.1mm wall thickness delivered for under $15

yes, that should fit... and you can go with this formula

PVC Width > = ( the circumference of your pack ) / 2 + 5 mm
