On the last page of the Ops-Core manual, they declare that no helmet will protect you if you are a dumbass. Direct quote.
I know guys who can break a steel bar if you give it to them, nothing is safe in their hands.

I am unsure as to status of a ballistic-rated helmet, but soft and hard body armour is definately no-go without licensing. A PAL or RPAL is sufficient in Alberta, it is Provincial law.

Ok, I got the point. Mounting devices requires properly fitted helmet. Head protection - not much. Human skull offers adequate protection vs BBs, there is nothing else dangerous around. Grenades are rare and rubbered, any falling rocks?
Anyway I am increasing my helmet allowance by twice. Is this good one? http://www.airsoftpark.com/emerson-f...am-p-9121.html Thanks |

1) Some helmet may be under ITAR from US export. Let say you bought a brand new ACH from the states, drive home, US border catch you, you can face fine & jail for doing so. If the helmet got past US, ITAR is meaningless
2) Real helmet offer protection, say you slip and bang your head against a wall. The trauma on current helmet (if worn and maintain properly) would prevent a concussion. I don't think a replica helmet would be (worse case it splinter and the peices puncture your head 3) Fit and comfort The replica helmet are all Medium, Large, or Medium-Large. You can have headache from wearing it if its too small. Too big it could be a hazard by itself. 4) Night vision or thermo dervice. If you spend 100k on a BMW would you go for the crappiest/cheapest winter tire? Same thing applies, real helmet can be abuse much more than a clone (if you are afraid to throw your helmet down a flight of stair fearing it would break, you shouldn't use it) 5) Legalities: Be aware, real helmets fall under Body armour act in each provinces. BC and AB requires license to possess body armour, In Alberta, PAL/RPAL allow individual to own body armor There are a lot of helmet out there, US military helmet are the easist to source due to availability. PASGT is probably one of the most common helmet in the world. The suspension system is more common than the Skydex padded MICH/ACH another common helmet |
