Velocity Arms g36c double feeding

Hey guys,
Just got a brand new VA36 / g36c. Before ever using it, I switched to a longer tightbore (angry gun 6.03 407mm). It is double feeding nearly every shot. Most bb's dribble out of the barrel, a few will shoot below 100 fps (.28 bbastards). It's the stock hop up rubber, using a nub cut from a BIC pen just because

Have taken it apart and put it together multiple times with no change. Also tried several different mags.

Forgot to mention, the above is relative to semi auto. On full auto nothing happens. Remember, it's brand new, so doubtful that anything is worn out.

And by "nothing happens", I mean, it doesn't fire at all. Just dry firing.

My Brother bought one of those too (unfortunately), It was shooting 56 fps out of the box. We took it apart and found the barrel was turned so the hop up "window" was around to one side, hop up rubber material was bunched up in the opening. Replaced the hop up rubber with a w hold and installed the barrel correctly. It's now shooting around 380 fps but double feeding way too often. I think the problem lies with the hop up unit itself. That stock hop up unit is the cheapest POS that i have ever seen. the next "upgrade" on his gun will be a better hop up.

low fps/double feeds are generally symptoms of the nozzle not sealing completely with the hopup bucking and tappet plate timing. If we assume that the tappet and sector gear are within standard parameters that compare to other tappet and sector gears, it falls to the hopup and nozzle seal first.

Since you replaced the barrel, make sure the rubber and barrel are seated as far back as they can go in the hopup unit. Also if you're using mid or low caps, try not filling them full to test. Some guns/mags have issues when super filled up to capacity. Also try pushing forward or pulling backwards on the mag to see if it's seating position in the magwell. Another thing to check is the grub screw under the outer barrel that secures the inner barrel in place... make sure the barrel is seated as far back as you can get it before tightening that down.

Fixed it! Ended up simply being that the hop/barrel assembly wasnt fitting into the gun snugly enough, creating a chamber that was allowing two bb's at a time.

It was just stuck on the wires coming from the gearbox!
