ok so change of plans, im trying to get a hit from 200 feet via hopup upgrades. i think that might be more approachable but im lacking knowledge in range understanding for aegs. is there any recommendation for upgrades other than rhops?

In game kills around 250-300 ft. The 400 ft mark is aiming at a tree trunk about the width of a mans shoulders and hearing the impact of the bb. Still a heafty thwack sound. Hard to get a clear shot at that range in game. And again aiming about midway down from the crosshair on the scope. Or about 2.5 dots on a mildot. And the scope zero is set at 200ft
Ifu ever come out to a gta game or i hit an ottowa game ill be glad to show ya.
hmm 500 fps would definitely get it out there pretty good. If you're down that low on the scope crosshairs then you're arcing/lobbing a fair amount. But that's pretty good. Then again highly tuned BAR I think almost always outperforms most even highly tuned AEGs The sealing is just that much more consistent.

I can get vhs sized groupings at about 150ft with the IR-hopped 6.03 barrels at 400 fps (1.5J) Beyond that range is where my shaky hands and nearsightedness become the limitation. I'd really like to see what the R-hop can do in clean environment. This I can confirm because one of my local fields has a range with distance intervals marked. The shots were made slightly uphill so I imagine on flat land and the BBs were making good loud hits, so I would hazard a guess that 200ft with 1.5J is possible on an AEG... but a mouse fart can blow it off course. I was using .3s and .32s. And making consistent clean hits at that range is more an issue of luck with that random BB that doesn't have an off center air bubble.

For conventional hop up rubber, the PDI W hold is what I was using before I went to R-hop.

You can try the flathop sleeves and the special flat nub as well but you pay more for those.

I'm doing 260 easy up to 300 or just a little past with 430fps and using .3s on my vsr, and its a really flat trajectory.
But it depends where you like your hop set. I like mine set to the furthest drop where there's no rise in trajectory, so I can accurately engage from 60-260, and then just go up on the mil dots to drop it down on people beyond 260

Absolutely the first thing to do is to use heavier ammo. You'll see your effective range (actually hitting what you're aiming at) increase. Lot's of guys use 0.25's as a minimum...then go to 0.28's and 0.30's, etc... Buy a bag of each...shoot 2-3 mags of each (tuning your hopup with each weight). You'll notice a big difference.

Compared to the heavier weights...shooting 0.20's outdoors is like throwing paper balls...they'll just float all over the place in the general direction.

I'd rather replace a hopup rubber now and then and get really nice hopup application than fuss with a hopup that's not quite doing its job reliably. I've tended to have better luck with softer rubbers...then you can apply less hopup (which scrubs off less speed).

If you're still being outranged...then you're into upping the velocity. But if the fields are capping it at 400fps w/0.20's anyways, then you've got to make the most out of what you're allowed.

Winter is going to play havoc with your hopup. Rubbers get hard (won't apply spin as consistently), everything is wet/damp, etc... Don't sweat it too much, just adjust and get closer in.

IS the 430 fps you mention with .20s or .30s?

+1
If u r at 430 with. .30 that puts u above 500 with. .20 u shouldnt be zhootin anyone at 60ft. 100 med for sure. I run 120ft med and aboug 418fps on. .30s or 513 on. .20

To the OP u wont need r hop to bit 200 ft on a 350-400fps aeg a vuarder rubber or the pdi w and run. .25 or 28 even 30 if u ars at 400fps youll bs reachin out to 200+ ft with no issues. keep the inner clean dont get lube on the ruber tune in thop just right and use good bb's like bastards or i hear madbull are good as well.
