Quick question about age verification
I'm 16. Most of the events I see here require someone to be age verified to be able to participate, and I assume this means that they must be at least 18. I'm just wondering if any events or games are open to someone of my age group? Looking to get started in airsoft, and not seeing a lot of possibilities so far, by the way, I'm quite mature for my age, and try to be as respectful as possible, if that helps at all.

1) Where are you? Fill out your profile completely so people in your area can assist you ranther than people on the other side of the country who may not have the same requirements.
2) Maturity has nothing to do with it. It's a matter of legal liability. You can not be held legally liable for your actions outside of criminal matters. You can not legally sign a contract until you are 18, therefore you can not legally sign a waiver. Your parent(s) or legal guardian can, but it depends on if your local group is set up for minors.

Some places allow 16 and 17 year olds to play airsoft; but with a parent or legal guardian present. Expect that at 90% of those, you will have to prove your age (no your mother's word doesn't count). Most airsoft places in Canada are eighteen plus; and yes to be age verified, you "must" be eighteen or older. If your serious about playing and being a part of the community, now is the time to learn what you can. When your eighteen you can be age verified, and a wealth of resources will become available to you; it's worth the wait.
Unfortunately my friend, maturity isn't a factor in age verification, or legal responsibility. There are eighteen year old plus airsofters that are complete jackasses. Maturity will help you make the right friends and impress the community, as many youths are impatient and burn there bridges here before they become age verified. Be respectful, understanding, and patient; it's worth the wait. Please do some in depth reading here before asking questions a million other youth or noobs have already asked. There is plenty of info on airsoft and forum rules available to you. Thanks

Depending on where you are will decide if you can play. Here in Ottawa we frequently have 16+ events (the majority of events this year were 16+) and some occasional 14+ events however those are ususally restricted to "Minor Only" events. Honestly I ran 4 events this year all them 16+ events and I didn't have on single issue with any of the minors that attended. I would welcome minors at any of my games. |

Come to Winnipeg - Cuddy's Commandos is one of the few - or possibly the only - all-age club around. We're also the largest in MB, and possibly Canada.
We play every two weeks from the spring melt through to when the snow flies, averaging between 50 and 80 guys per game. We are, obviously, VERY strict with our rules, especially anything involving safety (which, on an airsoft field, is pretty much everything). Check out our site. Cuddyscommandos.com All are welcome |

Thanks everyone for the replies (sarcastic ones included), and it looks like waiting is in order, until I'm 18 or I see an event near me. Thanks for the offer canabubba, but winnipeg is just a little bit too far for me haha. Have a great weekend everyone.
