I love both of my PTWs. $1000 won't buy you one though. you're looking at 1400-1800 for just the gun unless you find a sweet deal on here.

$1.7K for a basic BNIB PTW in country. Then the mods and whatever else you want to do, it all adds up. Plus if you want real steel shit on your gun that's gonna cost s pretty penny. Although there is some real steel stuff you can find for pretty cheap, I see lots of KAC 7" drop in RAS kits for ~$150 when they go BNIB for ~$300.

I recomend a JG Thundermaul

That should leave you with lots left over for mags batteries and gear.

Wait until he is 18 then ask him to PM me, I will tell him where to get in country for 1k minus shipping, PayPal fee and tax.

Well i don't really care how much i spend on a gun, you really are paying for what you get so when it comes two years ill be buying a Ptw no matter what price as long as its new and not used. The gear i think ill save up for is pretty cheapish i think ill just get a combat shirt in drab and have a chest rig to cover up the middle and i'm not sure whether a to get a back pack or a hydration kit so it will probably run to around 1000$ at most but anyways ill stay on the site and talk here and there but ill see you guys in two years i hope

PTW's are expensive, look and feel nice, but they're certainly not the best as far as airsoft guns are concerned. I've seen WAY to many of them go down at games.

You haven't seen the new FCC PTW, my new 2012 M16 internals has been fully retrofitted with FCC parts, not only does it run better It's moisture proof and when compared to other 2012 it's quieter and the motor does not heat up like the new 2012. The thing that got me very dissapointed at Systema is their pride instead of admiting that they fucked up and made improvements on the 490 motor, their QC of late and the horrible electronics they launch the mad max version, WTF??? really do we need another potential problematic PTW that run at higher rpm and fps? No how about taking charge again and make your products better instead of launching hyped up version of teh old stuff.

That sounds much better.

I was always impressed with the externals and the feel of Systema guns. They're pretty wicked. I just saw way too many of them break down to, IMO, justify the cost. It's like owning a Jag... nice car, and you can always drive it... as long as you have two of them lol.

If Systema has fixed their reliability issues I may have to take a look at some of the newer models.

Thats pretty much why I am actually going to wait two years because hopefully by then they smarten the hell up, If not then who knows what ill aim to buy.

Edit: I don't want the Ptw because I am a fanboy and think its the best, I want a Ptw because it just is a kind of gun i want but in two years i can assure you it wont be my first gun so i can afford mags, gun rails and what not. personally all i'm going to be looking for in two years is a good M4 or C7. Ptw is not the best choice just a gun i will consider.

Never admitting a mistake and launching a tweaked version of a problematic item with some of the rough edges filed off is a very Japanese business model.

As for waiting to buy; that is the very best thing to do. You can't see the classifieds here but they are full of guns from people who got an AEG, had it sit under their bed for a few years and now that they're old enough to get in an organized game they're busy with school, or into cars, or discovered girls.

They're now selling this gun and trying to recover their cash. They have no network of friends who play since they never got to a game. The prices of new AEGs have dropped and in some cases what was a go to gun is now obsolete because someone else released a better version.

The super nice electric TM MP7 that was mainstay seller has now been replaced by the KWA MP7. I truly feel sorry for anyone trying to sell their expensive tweaked AEP now because no one wants one. No one at all. In two years time the gas TM MP7 might overshadow the KWA version.

If you're in the game and playing concerns like that might not bug you (but they probably will), but if you discover airsoft isn't for you or you move to a new town where there are no other players it will be a problem.

You'll just be another guy with no trader rating trying to pump out a ridiculous overpriced package deal begging for someone to buy it and put you out of your misery.

Systema hasn't really fixed the issue just cosmetic cures if you could even call them that, any issue that I have with my PTW has been eliminated by swapping the parts to a FCC unit so much so that almost none of PTW is stock anymore and the FCC stuff is so impressive that I dove in and purchased awhole complete PTW from them. I understand that to some this might be excessive for spending an additional $1.5K on a $1K toy gun but at least I know my shit will work when I need it.

To the OP sorry for the Thread jack but my only advice to you is wait on any impulse purchase, I know it's easier said than done but like Danke has said previously the tech in airsoft world evolve and within two years when you are actually of age who knows there might be something else that is better than the top of teh line stuff we have today.
