M16 3-point sling

I need recommendations for a 3-point sling for use with my M16. Which sling is the best? Should I get a replica or a real steel sling? whats the difference?

I'd like to hear about some first hand experience using one of these slings.

The best?

Blue Force Gear SOC-C sling.

It is modular so you can use it as a 1, 2 and 3 point sling and use it on any weapon you choose by using adaptors for each weapon.

That sounds awesome. Where would you recommend getting one?

Incidentally, from him.

Why, may I ask, do you want a 3-point sling? Versus, for example, a 2 point or single-point sling?

Actually I have not used any type of sling before....I now want the type of sling that Farmboy described so I dont have to choose between the 3 types.

a 3 point sling is more versatile. especially if you want to do some CQB. A standard 2 point slind only allow you to carry your fifle but when you need it quick, it's not accessible. That's when the 3 points come it. Your rifle is always ready on your body. Plus, if you need to get rid of it quick, you only have 1 buckle to undo and the rifle is free.

I always did my own slings. I saw some on the market that look pretty good, but I see a lot of people using them the wrong way.

The Blue Force Gear sling can function as 1, 2 and 3 point slings, all have advantages and disadvantages.

The 3 point sling is known to get in the way of the bolt release on AR/M16/C7 style rifles, yet provides a great way to carry on long patrols.

The 2 point also is great for patrols but along with the 3 point are not great for CQB.

The 1 point excels at CQB but is a poor choice for patroling.

The SOC-C sling can function as all three along with being modular to fit different weapons by adding adaptors, along with having a quick release. 1 sling, multiple weapons.

Well are you running a stock gun? Because using slings on a stock M16 cause the dreaded barrel wobble. If it's got a metal front barrel then go for it, but be for-warned, if not you're just asking for the barrel wobble three fold.
