CA Rifle vs. Carbine - Range Difference???

Hey I've been into airsoft for a while now, I have 1 AEG a TM SIG552. It's a nice CQB gun but a little short on power and range for outdoors. I was thinking about getting a CA Armalite to be my outdoors/long range weapon. These are already upgraded to around 340 FPS from the box. My question is, should I get the carbine or the rifle? I prefer the look and size of the carbine, but as this is to be a long range gun maybe the rifle would be better? They both have the same power but the rifle has a 510 mm barrel versus 363 mm for the carbine. How much extra range and accuracy is the longer barrel going to give me? Is it enough to go with a gun I don't like as much, or should I just stick with the carbine? Any input from people with experience with these guns would be appreciated.

The longer barrel will have only slightly more range and accuracy if fps is kept low, but the more fps you put in her the more range and accurracy you will get. I reccommend getting the Rifle and not the carbine. The extra range and accurracy will be worth it.

I am personally getting the CA M15A4 Rifle (in a couple days hopefully) and I chose it over the carbine because I wanted more range, accurracy and the full stock for a large battery. I am planning on upgrading the gun to just under 400fps and using it as a sniper/assault weapon. I can let you know how the gun turns out if you want.

i found the sig to have an excellent hopup unit. when you upgrade the internals it should perform awesomely range-wise. if you want even more, just pop an m4 tightbore and silencer on there. way cheaper than buying a whole new gun, plus it's not yet another armalite! yaaaay! you'd probably want a nunchuck battery to power a spring upgrade effectively as well.

I have a CA M15a4 assault rifle turned C7a1 with various real steel parts and upgrades to 387 FPS. This is amazing however hopup sucks shit, wont feed right on auto. Getting aftermarket hopup will reply with results.
