Mesh face mask

I'm looking to pick up a quality mesh face mask. I've read/seen that there are many choices out there and that some are much better then others. Its important that the mask i get is able to mold to my face. Can someone suggest a place i can pick one up? airsoftparts.ca has 2 choices, a simple $20 one and a deluxe version for $30. Local is nice, but at the same time both these products can be had for half the price off ebairsoft and other over-seas sites.

This one looks quite nice - i like the ear protection it offers.

Considering the fact that i will be attaching it to my JT paintball mask (with zipties or metal wire), will i stlll want to use the velcro straps (or other) these masks come with? Is there a better way to keeping the mask on (velcro vs something else?)

All suggestions are welcome. Links to particular products/places to buy appreciated.

You mean you will be attaching it to your JT goggles...not your JT mask, right? I have used the simple mask combined with ESS v12 goggles for the past 3 years, ever since I took a BB to the end of the nose and another to the tongue (missed my teeth) in the same day. I put my goggles on first and the mask on second. The strap for the mask is over the goggle strap. When we have reloading breaks between scenarios I am able to take my mask off and leave my goggles on. I would leave it as 2 separate items of protection.

Sure you can get it cheaper overseas...but add on some shipping and it will be hard to do for under $20. Also, it may take several weeks. Considering the proximity to the retailer you have the links to your shipping will be cheap and you will have it in 2 business days.

The more the protection, the better. Coverage is key. Your ears, face and neck as well.

Sooner or later, paintball-mask makers will be producing airsoft specific masks. Ones where the lower portion is a quick detach that is also meshed so it is very breathable. A airsoft specific mask means a continuous seal between the goggle section and lower section to eliminate a 6mm bb to get by.

Support your local dealer. If something is wrong with the product, they can take care of you quickly.

I prefer the mesh masks that don't cover your ears. Those ones prevent me from aiming down the sights.

I've tried/tested several...when it comes down to it, you'll have to try them out and then go with what fits/feels best.

I'd suggest holding off until the TTAC12 convention...there's going to be a good number of retailers there and there's bound to be several different mesh masks on display.

I attached mine to my X800 so there's only one strap to deal with
( i used plastic ties)

it is deformable so you can fit it to your face perfectly

The $20 one is great! I've taken several shots to the face no issues. This is the ONE and ONLY time in airsoft where the cheaper solution is actually the better one

The simple one is awesome.

I have one and have painted it in a scheme extreme similar to Jimski's. The other one is crazy bulky and you'll grow to hate it almost immediately. Myself and several other people I play with have a veritable graveyard of the ones that fit around your ears.

There's an "airsoft medicine" youtube channel where they routinely review masks like this and fire BBs at them.

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to try the regular mesh one first, seems like its the most popular. I'll check out more options at the TTAC12 and maybe pick up another one.
