If I had a choice between taking a 1:1 class with Magpul staff or Larry Vickers, I choose Larry Vickers all the time. Even if he was a corpse rotting 6" under.

I'm not sure if you're kidding, but I don't agree with the statement. I don't think DD was particularly influenced by the Magpul DVD series. What is true is that for many years there have been calls for LAV to produce training videos and/or books that would capture, at least in part, his extensive knowledge of small arms development and employment.

There are in fact several exciting training videos in the works; some close to release and some still in the concept stage. I'll add this and anything else LAV releases to my training library. Also, have a look at what Panteao Productions has been working on.

The LAV has no previous training videos specifically, altho he has hosted TV content in the form of the Tactical Arms and Tactical Impact shows, plus several other TV appearances for Discovery Channel. Most of these centre on historical or developmental aspects.

I used to have a couple of video of him teaching pistol and carbine shooting techniques. They where old, maybe late 90's. I found this in a large package of firearms instruction videos.

I did a quick search of my Hdisks and I deleted them.

It is not my intent to thread-jack but since it was brought up (above), I think it's important to note that barrel wobble and what is colloquially known as barrel "whip" are two different things. Mechanically-speaking, something wobbles if it's loose, but you can be assured that the rifle barrel in that video is not loose, given the operator. What we refer to as barrel whip or barrel harmonics is in fact what you're seeing in that video.

Personnaly, I dont like what I've seen from DD up til now. Some of it is old school.

DD is definetly influenced by Magpul in the production of the video, even the camera angle rig when the camera moves with the carbine for the reload is an obvious copy.

Magpul has some really good AR type solutions but the best all around for me is still Gabe Suarez.

His videos may not have the bling the other 2 have but he's the only one that nails down the ''no nonsense, at the root of the problem'' everytime.
