RA-Tech CO2 Magazine for KSC G17/18C
Has anyone here tried the RA-Tech CO2 mag for KSC Glock series? If so, what brand CO2 powerlets have you used with success?
Is there suppose to be an o-ring at the inlet valve? I'm testing one for a customer right now, using Crosman powerlets, and no matter how tight I screw in the base, all of the gas will leak out. I'm trying to figure out if it's a flaw with the product, or if the powerlets I'm using are simply not compatible. |

My response is a bit late, but maybe helps someone else.
There is one o-ring in the inlet valve. However when tightening the capsule in the mag the o-ring was so soft that it clogged up the hole from inlet area to the outlet valve. Resulting in no pressure at the outlet valve. So i got creative and put a plastic shim on top of the o-ring so that the pressure wouldnt push the o-ring to block the passage. Put all toigether and worked out fine. About the plastic shim- you must test it yourself, some mags work well without it. If you take the mag apart and see the build of the mag you will understand what im talking about. also you might want to file shorter the tube that punches through the co2 capsule's cover. They come in various lengths to my surprise and some are longer than others- resulting in penetrating the cover to soon- lots of lost gas. This is an illustration of my setup: http://www.upload.ee/image/1694093/shshs.gif Last edited by heikis; September 28th, 2011 at 14:59.. |

I think my problem is that the inlet is actually *too short* as it is, and so it does not get full penetration in to the CO2 capsule. The result is gas lost at the valve.
RA-Tech sent me a disassembly video, so I'll have to take it apart and look at it when I get a chance... but they say I may have snapped the valve. Which I doubt. The capsule was fully seated, and it did not function from the very first puncture of the mag. I found no loose metal afterwards, and my inlet still looks to be a tiny bit longer than the one in your photo. |

I think the inlet is too short as well and it did not function from the very first time. I don´t know how to get the inlet valve out to set o-rings or shims. Would you mind to send me this video?

There are 2 grub screws on either side of the magazine. Release those grub screws and the inlet valve should be able to be pry'd out. I think the idea is to re-seat the o-ring. I may shim the inlet valve.
Will do some sleuthing this weekend and post back. |

What really pissed me off, was RA-Tech's response to me in regards to this issue, in how they tried to put the blame on me, saying that I must've screwed up installation of the CO2 cartridge, and that I must've put it in crooked.
Clearly, it's not just me. I'd did my research before I'd contacted them to see if I was missing something. Honestly, I'd expected something more than that from them, considering the volume of money I run through them. Over what? A crappy mag? They've put a dent in their reputation from me because of this. I really did expect more from them than that. If your product sucks, deal with it.

I'm having the same problems. Going to take apart the mags in the next couple of days and I'll post a fix if I find one.

Got mine fixed yesterday. Poor quality control from RA Tech ...
First, I got the side screws off, and took apart the inlet Then checked the rubber ring (was broken...) and changed it. Now is running fine shooting BBs at 300FPS.
