Does anyone know where I could get a Ukrainian kevlar helmet? Here is a photo of a Ukrainian soldier with one....

Well the helmet you can get pretty easy... but the cover is another story. you can always buy a kevler helmet from a local army navy store, or surplus. The cover you could probly find a website that sells the fabric in that camo and just put it on your self.

Do you know what specific helmet that is then? helmets are not just 'helmet', they all have specific models and names.

This particular helmet is the same one used by Polish forces, even the cover is copy of the Polish one. My guess is that they are pretty rare even in Ukraine with most of their soldiers still using the Soviet SSh-68 helmets.

Polish kevlar helmets pop up on the net now and then. The cover you can have made from a combat jacket if you are willing to spend on getting one and pay for the labour.

There's a guy in Moscow that makes custom helmet covers in various patterns, you can try contacting him. Not sure if he speaks English though. http://kolpak.biz/

There's no specific desert uniform in Ukraine. If I remember correctly while depoloyed in Iraq they've used uniforms made in Poland, in the Polish desert "pantera" pattern.

Try Trident Military, or www.russionacombatgear.com . Both carry a pretty good selection of former WP gear (current issue, that is).

The camo pattern is called "Dubok" or "Дубок" and this is the camo that was in creation for the former USSR troops until the soviet union fell apart and the Ukrainians acquired the pattern.

I am originally from Ukraine and I have family members in the army there, I've had a few sets of Ukrainian Dubok in our store but the camo sold very fast and rite now it is very complicated to get that into Canada ... the taxes are outrageously high and just knowing somebody will not get you anything anymore :P

I am still on a look-out for a source in Ukraine to get some of that camo into here, if it ever happens I will definitely make an announcement on ASC.
