GBBR's are deadly accurate and long range alright..... but only when it's nice out lol
If you want something tried tested and true, and 100% reliable from -5 to +40, get an AEG.
AUG and AK's make excellent DM platforms, it's real easy to make them long range and accurate. M4's require a lot more work to get the same performance as an AEG or AK though.
M14's are also excellent

It's not that M4s are bad, they just have inherent flaws that make them not as good on average. But that doesn't mean you can't have a really wicked M16.

As far as external quality, G&P is #1, then KA, then VFC. If you're looking for a DMR I'd take CA off the list. I've worked on quite a few and I've lost all confidence in their mechboxes, plus the finish on their guns is crap.

Tic, I'd just get a G&P...
Thundercactus, how would an Ak get better performance than in M4 in general? If they both have good internals and tightbore and all that, there should be no reason for a difference.

Superior hopup chamber design, and better air nozzle to hop rubber alignment.
Most M4's have wobble between the upper and lower receivers that will cause inconsistency in your shots.
Usually requires way less effort to get an AUG or AK to shoot really good over an M4.

Yes they do! There are few AEGs sexier than the SCAR SSR! http://krokus.km.ua/index.php?option...mid=70&lang=en http://krokus.km.ua/index.php?option...mid=70&lang=en

I see. Thanks for the explaination.
Since I'm not a commie, and I hate AUG's, I guess I'd get an M14 for a DMR build.

I've decided to go with a KWA M16A3, but to make this an effective DMR I realize I'm going to have to put some upgrades into it.

So far I have down that I'll need to get:

A Inner Tightbore Barrel
Airseal Nozzle
Hopup Bucking

My question to those more knowledgeable in upgrades, do you think a stock KWA would need to install Steel Bearings, and/or a new cylinder head as well to make it more effective? I've heard that the stock KWA's generally are pretty good.

Thanks to anyone that can help me.

replacing the internals of the gun with better ones will always result in better performance. Depending on how much power you want out of the gun, you may want to consider getting a reinforced gearbox.

That being said, here are some ideas for upgrades:

For instant trigger response/longevity:
Hi-torque gears
hi-mAh/voltage battery
hi-torque motor

For consistency:
New cylinder head (ARS makes a really good one, but modify and Prometheus can't be beat either)
piston head (ARS, Prometheus and Modify are the only brands you should consider)
Spring guide (ARS makes good ones)
Piston (prometheus HARD piston)

For accuracy:
Prometheus tightbore 6.03 ('nuff said)
Hop-up bucking (ask Amos about this, I can't remember the good brand ones, but i believe that ARS makes REALLY good ones IIRC)
Prometheus (IIRC) metal hop-up chamber

If you plan on shooting a lot in semi, consider buying an upgraded tappet plate and reinforced cut-off lever (This i would strongly recommend).

hope that helps!

if you're going to use a Modify piston head, then you should replace the stock orings. They seal very poorly, even when using them in conjunction with a Modify cylinder.
