A question about AKs74-u

Hey Guys this is my first post here.

I am very new to the sport and have been researching different guns trying to find the "Perfect gun" for me. i came across the AKS 74 and am really diggin' the compact ak look, as i feel a full size ak is a bit bulky (IMO) but i still wanted to run an ak. i have been researching this gun and could ony find two models in the Canadian stores (the G&G and the SRC) was wondering if anyone could help me find the different makers who provide this gun. i am looking for a full metal version of this gun, but would consider a plastic version if it is a sound gun. money is no option. thanks for the help guys.

Also if you do own this gun some sweet airsoft picture pron would be totally acceptable. also your thoughts on the different maker models would be awesome or a link to a review would work.

Thanks a bunch guys

Gilles.

If you can find one, VFC AKS-74UN. They're out of production, twice the price of a CYMA, and you have to be AV'd to get one, but they are well worth the effort to find. Full steel construction and LCT wood kit, top of the line internals, included tight-bore and scope mount. I can't say enough good things about VFC AKs.

But yeah, if you're on a budget, get a CYMA.

I've been quite happy with my full metal SRC AKS74U Gen III Pro.

Here it was in stock form:

Stock folded and a length comparison with a P90:

And with a few aftermarket parts:

So far the gun has been great. It takes a monster of a 11.1 lipo and gets a sweeeeeet ROF.

If you're in Red Deer, talk to Darklen about getting AV'ed first.

Second, I'll also give a vote to the CYMA. Not sure if I borrowed one last year but I did borrow a guys AK and it was sweet. May have been a CYMA base or it may have been built from a bunch of upgrade parts but it was sweet and definitely a solid construction for a clone.

Other high quality AK manufacturers include LCT if you can find it, Real Sword (don't make a "short/folding AK" though you'd have to find a furniture kit to replace it with), VFC, and I think G&P might make one or two (but they mainly focus on Armalites however you could potentially build an AK from scratch from the aftermarket parts they have available).

This has been done, just waiting for verification from the higher ups.

Do they make a conversion kit for regular aks? Yesterday i was playing with a Real Sword ak (with the folding stock) and that thing is so sweet. too bad they don't make the aks 74u or they would be the clear choice.

Real Sword doesn't have a side folding stock but a under folding stock (Type 56-1). You'll still get the same length as a side folder. Real Sword should be at the top of the list if money is no option. Solid and a heavy ass steel receiver, nice wood furniture really makes it one of the best AKs. LCT is really nice too.
