M4 Slings
Just looking for suggestions on which type of tactical sling to buy for my new M4. Whats best 1 point or 3 point and what would the differences be when it comes to gaming the different slings. Also do I need special adapters for the different types?

I find the Magpull Multi-mission sling to be great, you can easily/rapidly switch from 1 point to 2 points configuration and is easily adjustable.
I bought a chinese knockoff, and was surprised by the actual quality the main sling material. The paint comes off easily of the metal furniture but this I don't really care. Only thing to be careful about is not to rock it out too hard, as one of the buckle detached itself midgame. I just did a quick knot it and rearranged it at the basecamp when I had the chance. Not a real biggie, considering the price paid I'm pretty sure a genuine one wouldn't let you down though. Edit: As for adapter, I don't know about 3 points, and I heard it's not really used anymore; for two points, you obviously need two sling mount :P

3 point slings are garbage, don't spend your money on them.
1 Points are alright for some things, 2 points like the Vickers generally tend to be the most versatile for slings. The Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Sling is one of the best 2 point slings, I've been using one since 2007 on the C7A2 and C8A3 and never had any issues with it. As for adaptors, depends on what kind of sling mounts you have and how you want the sling set up on the rifle. Vickers Sling http://www.oneshottactical.com/Merch...ry_Code=SL-BFG Sling Attachments http://www.oneshottactical.com/Merch...ory_Code=SL-SA Adaptors http://www.oneshottactical.com/Merch...y_Code=SL-BFGA CP Gear also has a sling that is similar to the Vickers as well as some 1 point slings. They are on sale for the next few days, if you are interested http://www.cpgear.com/StoreBox/sale.htm Last edited by -Skeletor-; May 27th, 2011 at 19:33.. |
