Laser Bore Sight Collimator

Has anybody used the Laser Bore Sight Collimator available from AirsoftDepot.ca?

Does it work with an airsoft gun?

How does it attach to the gun - (I'm assuming that you just insert it into the barrel, from the front of the gun)?

How does it account for the small variations in the inner barrel diameters?

Can you see the laser outside, in bright daylight, at a distance of 100 feet. What about at 150 feet?

How successful were you at sighting in the gun using this device?

It's just a laser you plug at the tip of your barrel.

When you aim at a set distance, you can then align your sights on the dot. It won't account for drop or wind or nothing. Just give you a flat 0 for your ajustements. It's a good starting point to save on ammo.

Yes

Yes

Yes, in the barrel tip

There's a rubber insert, works no problem with said variations

Not really... inside it works, but outside only if it's dark

Very good. Adjust your sights to this, then adjust the hopup to your sights. Keep in mind that if you're using it at a short distance, keep your red dot/cross/whatever higher than the target distance.

I'm not sure I'de trust it to be true zero just by relative cheapness.

Prolly okay for airsoft use.

a sized plastic attachment goes onto the end, that sinks into the barrel... you twist it on a thread so it'll expand to tightly fit the inner barrel; turn the laser on and adjust your sights.

Problem being that it's supposed to bite the rifling of your barrel which you don't have, so it'll be a somewhat delicate fit...

Also, laser bore sighters are generally designed to be used at 100yards or more and have to be made to high standards so the laser is perfectly true zero.

Additionally these units are almost always 5mw in power, meaning useless in daylight unless you have a highly reflective surface to ping it off of.

High quality ones always include a reflective target with a 1/4"-1" grid so you can line everything up properly and see your dot 100yards off in daylight.

However, you can always use reflective plastic; like you'de find on a bike reflector or the tail lights on your car. These surfaces allow a 5mw laser to be visable at upto 300yards or more.

Actually you use this indoors to get a rough zero with your scope/sights, then at the field adjust the hop up as needed based upon temp and BB weight, then tweak the sights after that. But close enough.

I have the RS version of this, it works very well, but found the most consistant I could get it was with the rotary switch facing up, if you plug it in, turn the laser on, you'll see the laser doing circles. Keep the switch at 12 O'Clock, that should put you on paper at almost any reasonable distance.

This is the "economy" version of a laser bore sight. I have one as well and they are only so accurate.

A true (and more expensive) boresight is not suitable for airsoft. They resemble the cartridge of a gun and go in the chamber.

I have had mine for a while,
The batteries that came with were dead
also with the proper end, and tightened to the right point it slides in quite nicely.

Also it has to be in just the right way.
Mine has to have the Left edge of the Laser warning sticker pointed str up to give the
best orenatrion for initial scope alignment..

Sans the Battery issue and taking the time to find its sweet spot.
a good buy.
