How to be an airsoft support gunner

the gun is not light, the bipod is there for a reason running with a saw is not comfortable, using it as a rifle is not comfortable.

no one ever said you have to sit somewhere waiting for an enemy, camping is not exactly recommended. key to winning, whether in skirmishes or Milsims is to reach your objective, and in a Skirmish case to kill all your enemies. To do so, your team must cover as much ground over a wide area and therefore allow yourself movement room and room to retreat if caught in a tight situation. Supporting your teammates with suppressive fire isnt something that a SAW gunner is supposed to do, everyone in the team has the responsibility of doing so,

Hell ive ran around carrying a m249 and i play like i normally would with a m4 or some other lighter rifle. carrying a 249 isnt easy as that thing weighs about 17 - 18 pounds fully loaded, it might sound light yeah when you workout but once on the field ducking, running for cover its not so easy. especially when u shoulder the weapon and aim down the sights. if you want to move around and do alot, just stick to an assault rifle, veer away from the LMGs because whether or not you are playing skirmish or Milsim, being a "airsoft support gunner" falls into the role of every airsofter out there.

I've been training hard and using my G&P 249 at every game just so I can adopt it into gunfighter lol
It's damn hard to hold a 249 like an M4, they're not terribly ergonomic.
But you get strong enough, and you can take it to 24 hour games like the rest of us hardcore airsoft LMG gunners

I get more kills with my sniper rifle than my 249, and I'd still rather use the 249 just because it's more bad ass.

And have you ever seen two LMG gunners advancing? You can't stop it!
Back when my buddy Tom still played, that was our golden tactic for a year, we never got shot once during an assault, but we laid down a LOT of fire.

Hell man there is nothing egronomic about the M249, except its got beastly firepower haha the box mag always gets in the way of ur arm so you have to kind of hold it in an awkward position which kinda sucks but ive gotten used to it , and ive led an assault using that thing, raining down fire and get an large amount of kills haha, its not "fair" since its a auto wind box mag but hell its awesome

Get a couple nutsacks; no problems handling it like a rifle with one of those on.

The most userfriendly saw I've owned ( and now own again) was the RPK. Basicaly the same as an ak... just a bit longer and heavyer ( mine is full wood and metal (old scool metal body not the cast stuff out today). The 249 is probably one of the worst there is and if I had not paid what I paid for mine I would not have bought it....

The best compromise IMO is the good old m60 loved my a4 but she is still a heavy bitch to carry around.

One thing I learned after 7 years of using a saw....... The sling is your friend... and get a RS one designed for the weapon you are using

After so long I have a hard time going back to regular aegs....

I used to use a 3pt sling for my 249, now I use a 1pt sling
Like i said, I handle mine like a rifle

I know the feeling my 5 man squad should be sporting for this summer 3 lmg, 1 DMR and one runner with a rifle..... I guess I should get a bulk order of BBs in.....
