If your looking for extra things to throw in those utility pouches, I like keeping a couple Granola bars/power bars in my extra pouches.

Also, I HIGHLY recommend a hydration system. Canteens are okay, but a camelback is a great idea. Backpack style or MOLLE attached, either are fine.

On a hot summer day, you can get de-hydrated quickly without even noticing it.

Don't worry, I'll have the M24 straped to my backpac most of the time when moving.

I'm actually going to be using canteens until I buy a different camelpack for Airsoft. I have one already but it's for hiking and biking and such and I paid way too much for it to potentially get ruined on the field.

The granola bars and such are a good idea. I asked my dad (served since he was 18) what he carried on him and none of it would make sense on an Airsoft field lol.

Any tools or anything for just in case something happens to gear on the field? I'll be keeping electrical tape in my vest because that's never failed to be useful in any situation lol.

I like to keep something vague and general, like a leatherman or something, but if only if you have the space or you are playing really long games where you can't go back to the safe-zone.

i noticed your in kitchener. Marpat, i find, works really well on that field, in the wood areas. in the town areas it doesn't really matter, you'll be seen in anything.
i would suggest marpat.
i use marpat with an OD carrier i think it looks good. same with CB. the problem with CB, is that many of the lower end companies only sell tan, which i think is to light.

Take pics of yourself using your bathroom mirror so we can see loadouts.

I've rummaged through enough boxes at surplus stores and been gouged on enough mediocre used merchandise to know that unless you know what you're looking at and you're getting a really good deal, you're better off buying new stuff.

Off-the-shelf BDUs may seem expensive, but knowing you can rely on something and putting your own wear into it counts for a lot.

I just ordered some licensed Multicam from these guys, and am pleased with the service.

~60 bucks a piece for pants and tunic sounds like a lot when you're starting out, but when some places want to charge you 40 bucks a piece for used 80's Canadian ODs....

Bareass: I put together a CADPAT and it seems to work out in Baden at my buddies place but I'm looking at MARPAT right now and it seems like it could be useful. Does CADPAT work well on the Flag Raiders outdoor field?

MiniMcNabb: One day I'll do the Myspace mirror pics lol I can't get any right now as we're renovating our bathroom and just have a small round one enough for the wife to fix hair and such. I imagine I could get just pics of the gear itself though if that would help you at all lol.

Cliffradical: That's still a tad out of my range for just starting out lol I do have it bookmarked for if I keep in the sport. Like I said, getting into it I'm not going to kill my wallet. I went to a surplus store back home when I went to visit this weekend and found some damn good deals on solid pants and such in CADPAT and OD.

I apologize if I sound like an asshole to anyone lol I do appreciate all the help.

Camouflage of any type only works if you're in an environment where it's conducive to concealment. FR isn't one of those. It doesn't matter what you wear there since most of your action is in the open while transitioning between structures, barriers or obstacles.

Camouflage clothing has it's uses for sure, but don't be too concerned with "blending in". Instead, try to wear something that doesn't stand out. In my opinion, not being seen is less important than seeing the other guy first. I guess some people would say that means the same thing, but I've been right out in the open and gassed people who I saw coming across a ridge or traversing light to dark before they ever saw me.

Fair enough then. I'll stick with what I have and work around it, adding or subtracting what I need to. You guys have been a huge help.

Thanks again.
