I just tried hot water, boiling water, a clamp, pliers, and fire. It's really stuck on there.
Edit: Nevermind. I actually set the tip on fire, let it melt practically half of it off, then doused with hot water. It finally popped off.

If you have a metal barrel, you could remove these tips with acetone. It'll eat through plastic pretty well. Might fuck with your finish depending, and god help you if you try it on a plastic barrel. It'll do some kinds of glue (specifically cyanoacrylates) as well.
