Bought LiPo for the first time and confused by the connectors

I just bought a 7.4V 910mah LiPo battery for my 97B as advised in a thread. The battery I bought has unknown connectors as shown in the first picture.

My problem : I need the "charging" connector to plug in the ports of my LiPo charger as shown on the second picture (it's a 2 cells battery). I also need the battery to plug in my gun with a mini-tamiya female connector.

What do I need? Adaptors? New connectors? New charger? I have never changed any connectors and have no ideas about what to buy or what is compatible.

The battery :

The charger

You have to plug both into the charger (at least I do on mine). So if that mini fits your AEG you need to make a new pigtail for the charger.

Are those the only places on the charger that leads go in?

It's a charger that balances and charges at the same time (it has two holes, one for 2 cells and one for 3 cells).

the wire with the black end should fit into one of the 2 places on your charger,

the other one you will need to change to the connector that connects to your gun

The black connector on the battery is the balance connector. Looks like your charger charges by the balance connector wich is fine. The red connector is the one used to connect to your gun. You'll have to change it or get an adapter.

If you decide to change it, check the battery with a battery tester before, to make sure it's good, changing the connector will probably void the warranty if you have one.

Be very carefull not to short the red and black wires.

Ok so what are the names of the different connectors and such? I'd look for some on the Net but I have NO idea what they are called.

The red connector looks like HXT bullet connectors. You can get almost all the connectors and adaptors at hobbyking. As for the balance connector, if it doesn't fit in your charger, you'll have to find out wich kind of connector it is and what your charger has as well then you can find the right adapter at hobbyking in "Hardware & accessories" then "Wires & Plugs" and "Battery/ESC/Motor Plugs & Wire".

Did the charger come with the battery? I think ThunderPower batteries come with special balance connectors and looks like the charger has JST-HX balance connectors!

Make sure you're using a good balancer for your lipo. You can charge it just fine using the balancer connector (that's how I charge all mine).
