Maruzen M1100
So I have been looking for a gas shell ejecting shotgun for awhile. I pm'ed a guy on JOC asking him if him if he had any Tanaka 870 shotguns. He said he didn't but he had a short version maruzen 1100. I currently own a p90 but am probably going to try and sell it because I like shotguns more.
My account on JOC is Devo and I am Av'd http://www.jocairsoft.com/forums/ind...user/648-devo/ I here it has some minor problems but I found a guide listed below to fix them/improve most of them http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&client=safari I also found a shell catcher http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airso...t&id=SCM1100KM If any of you have owned one, could you please tell me your experiences. Also what kind any kind of RS or airsoft stocks that will fit on it. I am also probably just gonna use this solely for indoor. Last edited by G2Sniper; November 15th, 2010 at 15:40.. |

The underlying concensious I've heard from team mates and friends are that shell ejecting shotguns are really expensive, really finicky, and really fun. When they break, they require a rather in depth knowledge of gas gun mechanics to fix, so it's not for the faint of heart.
I've fired a buddy's Marushin 8mm, and it was awesome. Loads of fun. But my understanding is that he has spent a long time getting it that way. I am not familiar with the newer shell ejecting shotguns, but to my understanding, they function like the real steel, only with monkey metal parts on the extractor and it is prone to breakage. This is all second hand information, so that it with a grain of salt. But if it's worth anything, in 2 years of solid indoor CQB gaming... I've never seen a shell ejecting shotgun skirmished. |

Yeah it from what I read the extractor is pretty cheap but I know someone who is a machinist who should be able to make a new one with stronger material. I all ready have a clone m3 but I really want a gun that works realistically.

I had one. Tonnes of fun to shoot. Jammed too often for me to want to field it reliably.

I think I am just gonna put small o-rings on the shells to fix the stovepiping cause a steel extractor ruins shells after multiple uses.

I've got the remains of two 870 shottys and one M1100. All three have busted shell lifters (loading door in that link you posted).
One of the 870s was bought broken, but I got it for spare parts for the other one. Unfortunately the same part broke in both shottys and on the M1100. Unfortunately the Remington part is missing critical features on the topside of the shell lifter so it's not really compatible. It's also thin sheet metal which would eat the other parts that push on the lever ends because they're soft pot metal. For awhile I was limping along with a patch repaired shell lifter, but I noticed that my shells were occasionally dropping bbs. The loose bbs regularly found their way into the trigger mechanism and jammed it. It's too bad. There's an awesome feel to jacking in shells and seeing them fly out the side, but this gun is more of a collectors piece than a gaming gun. It's a nice model with interesting actions that happens to be able to shoot pellets for a short period of time.

Shell ejecting shotguns don't have a place in airsoft, if you want realism get the real thing.
Otherwise a Marushin M500 or Tokyo Marui M3 and clones will do the job |
