Plug battery, shoots auto without trigger pull

Hi,

Would anyone be able to pinpoint me to the most likely cause of this problem:

When I plug in the battery, the gun starts shooting by itself (without any trigger pull) in full auto no matter if the selector is on full or single.

If the selector is on safe, it doesn't shoot.

The gun is a G&G M4 (non-cansoft full metal)
I suspect it may be the cut-off lever? Anything else?

I'm trying to solve that for a game tomorrow, so I'm pretty pissed-off... damn thing...

Thanks!

The spring holding the trigger connect has probably come undone, and the contacts are not releasing from one other.

I had this happen in the field at the first Border Wars.

sounds like a trigger contact problem. had the same issue

you'll need to pull apart the mechbox, and check

Thanks Coma, that makes sense. I hope that's the case, that should be a quick and easy fix if it is.

Obviously that was the plan, lol. But already having a good idea of what the issue might be helps to do it faster... I'll do it as soon as I get home.

If the gun does not shoot when in safe, it means that is is related to the trigger group. Can be the spring that is undone, or can be the trigger carrier that has melted and left the metal block at the contacts (I have seen this before). In either case, you might consider replacing the trigger contacts. They usually wear out quite fast when using 9.6v or above and trigger issues usually means it's time to change them. 10-15$ will get you a new harnest, sometimes with the wires already on.
