KSC PGC G17 Slide Issue

So, I ordered a PGC G17 Slide set for my KSC G17. Slide is gorgeous with it's trades and finish.

No fitment issues whatsoever. Only modification was to my slide cover plate. You have to shave the corners down for it to fit. PGC gives you a slight diagram for the mod. Anyway, no problems arose until today...

With the way KSC designed the stock slide there's an extension which reaches into the nozzle assembly and is screwed together to hold everything in place. Unfortunately, PGC's design lacks that extension so my assembly flops down after recoil which eff's up the cycling. All there is is a large hole which sits under the rear sight.

I'm wondering if I got a wrong/defective slide or if I'm missing something? Is there any remedy to this? If not, I'm probably gonna either JB Weld or 2 part epoxy that slide cover.

Suggestions?
