Mock Silencer Shifting.
Hey guys, just wondering if you guys know how to fix my issue or any ideas on how to fix it. I just bought a 7" QD mock Silencer and it works fine for about 2 or 3 mags, then it shifts from left to right and my BB's clip the end and go flying everywhere and break BB's inside of it. So any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! Last edited by W33zy; August 18th, 2010 at 00:33.. Reason: spelling... |

I wouldn't understand why the silencer is loose, apart from, if you don't have it tight on the end of the barrel.
Are you sure any of your silencer threads or the threads on your gun are stripped? You could be crossthreading your silencer, that could result in your silencer not being straight. There's nothing technical about it, you just need to make sure it is perfectly aligned with your barrel, it is straight, and is not loose. |

Ok figured out that my flash hider is on square but my Silencer wobbles a bit left and right. It is down as far as it can go and will not move up and down but only left and right a small amount.

Teflon Tape Scotch or electrical tape MIGHT do in a pinch, probably won't work too well. Double check that it's not just your silencer that wobbles, does your outer barrel wobble too? And double check that all the parts of the silencer are screwed in all the way and fitted in well. EDIT: What type of gun do you have? |

Sound like your threads are going (stripping). My silencer is that exact same way, luckly I have a ring that screws the opposit way of my silencer so it keeps it in place.

My threads on my barrel are in near perfect condition, i think that maybe my flash hider is too small for the silencer to grip onto tightly. I'm some what new but i think this could be an explanation.

Your silencer attaches onto your flash hider, I see. Teflon tape will definitely do the trick, just pick some up at any hardware store. |

Wait you said flash hider, I'm not very clear about silencers that attach onto a flash hider but I'm pretty sure it is suppose to click, screw or snap on (something along the line of those), now did the flash hider come with the silencer? If not that may be your problem.
When you put the silencer on the flash hider will it for sure no move or wobble around? I know my silecner unscrews itself if it is not locked into place and screwed fully on, to the point of not being about to take it off |

yeah, i have a QD and Im using the flash hider it came with. It basically has a collar and you pull it back and slip it onto a ring on the flash hider so it wont slide off, but that's all the collar really does, and its only my silencer that wobbles. So like Eldin said if i put some tap around it so it is a more snug fit and wont wobble.
