KJW M9 Selector Switch/Piston.

This maybe a dumb question, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
How do you remove the selector switch/piston on a KJW M9 (Elite IA)
I just can't seem to get the darn thing off.

Thanks in advance.

Piston is simple: just keep removing screws and springs until you get under the BBU plate and remove the loading muzzle. The piston cup you have to just pull off, it takes a bit of coercing. Can't remember how to get much further than that - I only went further once... and everything past there is still in pieces as I'm waiting on new parts from KJW.

I'm also curious about how to remove the selector switch - the right side is easy, one screw out and you're done... but how do you get the whole other side out? I just can't figure it out.

Anybody? Selector Switch?

Thanks for the help so far Juicy. But I'm actually curious as to how to remove part #24. It seems that you have to get the safety selector out first.

Anyone know how? >.>

After an hour and a half of toiling (well, more like an hour of cleaning... again, even though I haven't fired a shot since I last cleaned it), I figured it out.

This link helped me figure it out!!!! http://airsoft-barracks.com/forums/i...howtopic=18118 - read post 3, there's your answer there.

yes you need to remove the safety. After you unscrew the grub screw and remove the right side lever (take the grub screw all the way out or screw it all the way in after removing the lever so it doesn't get in the way). Then flip it into safe mode and remove the triangular safety actuator from the bottom right of the slide. Now, with a finger covering the front side of the left safety (just under the lever) flip the safety all the way up till it wants to stop(it goes beyond fire mode). After you get the lever passed fire, the pin that nestles into the notches for fire and safe modes will try to jump out, thats why i said to put your finger there. You can either take it out(with the spring behind it) or leave it in the hole. Now, with the safety up. You can work it out the right side of the slide and the bbu piston should just fall out.
thanks a bunch!!!!

Lol, actually I'm still confused/hesitant. How do you get the triangular piece off? http://www.justpistols.co.uk/kj-m9s.jpg

You pry it off. At least, that's what I did. Took a small screwdriver and pushed the triangle disconnector-thing to the left and down (assuming the gun is pointing away from you).

If you've got the patience you could probably push the detent pin in on the left side safety lever and rotate the lever as high as it'll go, while trying to pull the left chunk of lever out to the left, while pushing the triangle part right and down. lol, good luck with that one...

I know this is old, and I know this doesn't matter to Juicy anymore (what since I picked up his M9), but this is the correct way to do it.

Info: http://gasguns.info/forum/viewtopic....t=1624&start=0
Diagram: http://www.justpistols.co.uk/kj-m9s.jpg

Holding the Slide upside down, barrel pointing towards you.

1. Take off part 31 (the two springs). One at a time, push them back then pull them inwards, so that they can be pulled easily towards the center of the slide, and removed.

2.You can now remove the feeding nozzle (Parts #18 to #22). Gently pull it towards you, it should just come off.

3. Pop part 33 out by pressing it back and up with a screwdriver. Keep a finger or something above it, as once it pops out, if not used to it, it can fly away from you inadvertently throwing it (there are no springs to worry about anymore since you already got rid of them before however)

3. Now you really have to play and wiggle with the Selector switch to pop it out (toggle between safe/semi and pushing to the left [the side with the switch still on]), but be careful, because here is where sh!t can hit the fan:

You have parts #28 and #29 on the left safety switch that are going to come flying out, as well as the BBU (parts #23 & #24) falling downwards once removed, and the triangular piece (#30) is going to fall down as well, so be sure to do this with your thumb/finger/something under the safety, and a table near the bottom of the slide to catch the falling pieces, but something soft is preferable to avoid any damage.

These next lines are to help whoever else may need it. I spent long enough googling this problem to know that there aren't really many forums with these keywords, that also have the solution.

Yea, that's good information. I think it should be stickied somewhere or kept somewhere that's easy for people to find.

At the moment though, I'm having trouble with a rather innocuous piece on the lower half.

Number 59. As far as I can tell it's just a pin, and yet, I fail to press it out. Is there a trick to this or something?
