Merrel Boot

Hi. I'd just like to know why most Merrel boots are only available in the US. Is there a way to order them in Canada. I was looking at the Sawtooth model.

Thanks

I saw some Merrels in stock at Bass Pro Shops in Vaughn last month. Does Sports Authority not ship to Canada?

The boot shop Downtown in Moncton stocks Merrells, they can probably order you a pair.

they won't sell the sawtooth to canada...cant remember the reason. You would have to order them to a ups store in the us, or a friends house and have them shipped up...then get raped on duty.

I had to have my Sawtooths shipped up from a contact in the states. Merrell puts export restrictions on certain boots and shoes going both ways. We can not get the entire Merrell line in Canada and Vice Versa, there are models here that are not available in the states.

My bad. Thinking back, I may have had a friend forward them to me. Not bad considering it was free shipping in the US.

They cost me 100 USD shipped to my contact in the states. Then When they got to Customs I paid another $100 CDN in shipping, taxes and duty. Careful when buying footwear outside of Canada it is heavily taxed.

If you do buy something from someone in the states like that, the US Postal Service has flat rate shipping boxes to Canada:

http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-...nal-prices.htm

So the shipping should be less than $30.00 USD, but I do not know how much the import duties add on. I am a retailer here in the US and on occasion ship to Canada, and man, I can stuff one of those boxes like it's a clown car!

The Shipping from Boston was about $20USD it was the duty and taxes that left me hurting.

Is there a link to a site that you can use to calculate the import duties when shipping to Canada? Or do you just have to pay GST and PST?

According to NAFTA, if an item is for personal use and marked as made in Canada, the US, or Mexico, you should not be liable for import duties. I can only find a Wikipedia reference to this, however, so I'm not sure how applicable it is in real life.
