Metal Dragunov Display

So the feds just finished knocking on my door. Apparently importing a spring pistol through ehobbyshop asia is a no-no, and I just nearly got charged by the OPP and Criminal Investigations Section. I originally intended to have a wall hanger, before learning it was classified as a 'replica' and thereby prohibited from import. My bad.

MORE IMPORTANTLY

I would really like to have an SVD as a display model to hang on my wall. I would not like to be breaking any goddamn laws because if I do have a criminal record I lose my career, and thereby ensure a swift leap off the niagara cliffs.

Who in Ontario is selling a metal SVD airsoft rifle. F**k importing, I'm not going through that shitstorm. Retailers? I heard the price is up to about 1K now.

I already have the sling, magazine pouches, bayonet and 8x42 posp scope already. Even a manual I printed off.

Alot of people want this particular model, so I hope this helps them as well.

Thank you all.

Well, price from illegal importers (not that you are interested in them) is actually well over 1k for the Real Sword SVD. That's the best looking (and working) airsoft SVD you can get.

I think the second best is Classic Army. But you're running into the same problem with legality there.

If you can, looking into Deactivated Weapons (DEWAT). However, that's probably a dead end. Who the hell takes a blowtorch to a perfectly good real SVD?

No, the feds JUST left my house.

Apparently it's legal to own a replica, or deactivated firearm, but not to import/buy/sell one.

So no retailers are selling them I assume?

Deactivate Firearms are different from Replica Firearms. You can legally buy/import/sell DEWATs, you're just stuck with whatever model's out there.

If your criteria is "legal" and "airsoft", then no.

Also, even if it wasn't illegal, a good looking airsoft SVD is expensive.

He just said the feds paid him a visit, and he doesn't want anything illegal. I don't think he wants the next visit to include a sting operation to catch whoever sold him a Replica Firearm.

lol epic fail.

i want to feel bad, but the onus was on you.

you only bet is to get age verified and buy from here. be prepared to pay 2-3 times more than the prices you see online though.

the community is very nice in person, just not that nice online. have you ever thought about playing airsoft instead of just buying wall hangers? we always welcome new players

It's happened before to people who imported martial arts weapons and prohibited knives. Generally it's rare and requires the CBSA to really work beyond denying you the goods (quite rare, usually their concern starts and ends at seizure of the illicit material).

I made a Dragunov wall hanger out of cheese once but the bastard mice ate it before I took any pictures.
