Mp5 battery

I have my original 8.4 battery in the stock, but i also have the collapable stock. I m not sure what size battery to buy that will fit in the front of the mp4. i tryed the Intellect 9.6V 1600mAh Ni-MH Battery (Mini Type) and it does not fix.
I dont want to go any lower than a 8.4v.
any suggestions on which to use.

Thx
Mike

"Intellect 9.6V 1600mAh Ni-MH Battery (Mini Type)" will fit, it is just really hard to get it to fit.

If you can't get it to work, move down one cell to an 8.4v mini battery (5 cells versus 6 for the 9.6v).

Otherwise, you can use a lipo battery.

the best fit i got in with it was pushing apart the plastic.
I didnt like that and I tryed for about an hour differnt ways.
Also is it true if a lipo dies its dead forever?

Thanks

ill go with the 8.4 mini.

If a lipo dies, it's because you overdischarged it beyond it's minimum voltage. It won't just be dead forever, it will start buldging as the gases from the damaged cells try to escape.

I can fit a 9.6v mini into my Mp5 handguard, it's really tight and I had to rewire it and cut out the fuse box but it worked.

If you are confident, or have a gun tech near you, rework the battery you have to make it an 8.4V, only requires removing the bottom two cells, and soldering in one of them. Five 1.2V cells make 8.4V, six makes 9.6V. It'll work, and might save you a bit of cash. Alternatively, if you are more into shooting people and having fun rather than "playing pretend" but dressing up as a SWAT, etc. (basically that whole "impression" thing that many guys do), you can go the route of keeping your 9.6V, wrapping it in black electrocution tape, and tape/zip tie it to the outside of your foregrip. I do that with a large 8.4V battery, I'm not shy about it, I go to play and shoot people. I'm not in it for looks. Lol

im looking at the Intellect 8.4v 1600mAh Ni-MH Battery (Classic Army 2 Pcs Type), it dose not say mini so are the cells large type or still mini and it just doesnt say?

Plus i have the classic mp5 front grip as well as the one with rails the mini type i tryed b4 just cramed into the one with rails with a little plastic bending, but there was no chance of it fitting into the classic style one(because it gets smaller near the front) I am just wondering if this Intellect 8.4v 1600mAh Ni-MH Battery (Classic Army 2 Pcs Type) will fit in the classic style one, as well as the one with rails?

You have this shape battery right?

You just need the one that is one cell less:

Unless your foregrip is the flashlight model, I have been able to cram the 6 cell 9.6v mini battery in there.

the only battery i have right now is the original 8.4v large cell, it only fits in the stock. with 7 cells it looks like the one you say i need but it is way too big.

you'll need a 8.4V mini battery. or if you want to fit a 9.6V you can get a large handguard

i've had problems fitting in the 9.6 mini in my handguard as well. Some mini types have a plastic cap or added plastic at the ends to solidify the stacks and it's this added plastic that's making it just a hair too big too fit in properly. Some will fit some won't. However, a 9.6 intellect nunchuck battery lacks the added caps and fits in quite easily.

Cut off the caps, replace with tape

Am I way off something here?

Up until I read this thread I would have sworn that "regular mini" 8.4v packs were 7 cells (1.2v each) (7 x 1.2v = 8.4v? right?). Configured like this sh*tty diagram:

===|

and that 9.6v minis were often configured in two rows of 4 cells (8 total = 9.6v). Like this:

====

I think what Stalker meant was to take one cell out of the 8 cell pack and turning another one over sideways to make it into a regular 7 cell (8.4v) mini pack.

And most MP5 handguards still fit a 8.4v 1600 mAh mini?

Like the guys said...splitting away some of the packing/casing might help. You can reconfigure the pack in serial any way you want...as long as you have good joints and don't short anything out.
