Steel M203 front sight

For those who owns a M203. made of steel. The flip sight is in gray as real steel, base is black.

Will they be getting the type II sight? (small screw instead of large thumb screw)

minor resurection,

why is this (and other m203 leaf sights that i've seen) called front sights? doesn't it require the front post sight (say; the triangular sight of an m16) to properly use it.

The leaf sight [proper name] does work in conjunction with the rifle's front sight post and is therefor technically a rear sight and must be mounted in a specific location to function properly; the M203 quadrant sight has both its own front sight post and rear sight aperture, allowing it to be mounted on the carry handle as well as on the launcher itself (KAC/LMT) or RIS/RAS (LMT).

The misnomer in airsoft probably stems from the fact that most people don't know how the sight actually functions. Even in games, the M203 leaf sight is always implemented wrongly.

Technically since the 203's are more of a shotgun than an actual 40mm launchable grenade, wouldnt that pretty much make the leaf sights all used incorrectly?

DarkAngel hit the nail on the head. Any M203 leaf sights are useless on an airsoft gun anyway and are merely there for show. With a real 203, you lob the grenade upwards to get it the distance it needs to go, hence the way the leaf sights work. In airsoft, the M203 is a glorified shotgun that you aim directly at your target with and shoot. 2 very different operating prinipals.

That being said, I'm sure this sight will be welcome, because for the most part, most airsoft 203 sights I've seen are pretty flimsy at best. A nice steel knockoff of the real steel version would be a welcome addition to anyone wanting that extra realistic look.
