Cameras on the field

For a while now, I've been considering fielding a camera. Gun mounted, it'll get a nice view of the action since you see what the player is shooting at. Problem is that I sometimes hang my weapon and switch to my secondary. The other problem I also found by watching other videos was if I mount it on an AEG, the sound of the gears and motor comes in strong. Just imagine if I mount this on a GBB like my MP7.

Now on a helmet cam, I find it looks a bit high and sometimes its hard to see a hit but you'll almost always see the field unless the player likes keeping his/her eyes on the ground all the time. Now I don't have the proper helmet to mount anything on to begin with so theres the additional cost if I consider this setup.

I'm trying to weigh out the pros and cons but this is just given what I know about the equipment, samples of youtube videos, and my limited knowledge of airsoft. I searched "camera" and "gun camera" but mostly found sales threads.

I use a shoulder cam, on my gun shoulder, it prettymuch looks down the barrel with me and is far away enough from the gears so that it doens't over take other noises,

Helmet cam. People can see what you see.
Problem with gun cams is half the time all you see is the ground or the business end of a tree.

I find gun cams and helmet cams annoying. Nothing beats a designated cameraman on the field to get those really good shots.

Gun, helmet, or shoulder cams doesn't show 100% of the shooters pov. Half the time you're trying to figure out what the shooters looking at if the camera even is centering on the target.

Diamond is right. Get a cameraman to follow the action.

Shoulder cam work good, but sometime you miss the action because the shooter is bladed or in a weird position. Especially in CQB.

I prefer the cam on the helmet. When the rifle is sighted, you can see it well and when the shooter is engaging, you see what he's shooting at if it's close enough.

As for the AEG sound. you can mix it down and add a little music if you hate the Whirr....

Gen2 gearbox sound like ass. Gen3 and Gen6 sound cool on camera.

As a player with a cam: We've done gun cams and you do get a lot of mechbox chatter (but it is easily edited out); one of our friends had a great POV cam and if you want to do a helmet cam thats what you would want (small and slim like a pen);

However we find that the best mix is to have at least one active cameraman (usually an Admin these days), as well as a few stationary cams (we make armoured camera boxs for them so they dont get damaged when shot lol).

I have roughly 30 vids posted from the last 2 seasons on youtube- if you have any questions you can totally pm me and if I can help I'll certainly do my best

I'm not big on editing, I like being very candid and raw with my pictures and vids.

I may end up looking up a helmet where I can mount a camera on at least to open up that option. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
