Stock confusion!
Hey guys, with my HK416 coming soon, I'm looking into accessories for my new toy. First off, I really really want to get rid of that ugly thing they call a 417 style stock. It's way inaccurate. So I'm looking to get a crane style stock, because I'm getting the rear-wired JG. Naturally it has to be able to hold the battery.
Now, I'm confused with all the stocks on ehobby or eb. Some are regular "carbine" stocks, which I understand are the standard M4 stock and is pretty much useless to me because they don't hold batteries. I'm interested in a MOD stock because I like the look of the MOD, EMOD's a consideration too if its cheap, but of course I need to be able to hide the batteries. Can someone explain what the differences are? So my question is what's the the usual capacity of these stocks? I know a crane can hold the typical "crane" battery configuration, but how about these MOD/EMODs? If you guys have links to battery/stock packages that are pretty worthwhile, please hit me up! Thanks guys!

It's hurt in the butt to find battery for those MOD stock. The only brand that I'm sure can hold the battery is the king arm version which come with Intellect 9.6 V 1400 mah with the stock, you can get from airsoftparts.ca and don't forget to get extra battery.
I suggest you go to crane stock since crane stock can be store up to 9.6 V 4200 mah which I'm using on mine right now.

Thanks. Is there any reason I can't just say, insert a battery from cheapbatterypacks.com into a KA MOD stock? Just wondering.
As for crane stocks, does any garden variety stock work? I'm asking just because it seems like there's a whole lot of prices on ehobby, ranging from expensive G&P to the overly cheap DBoys. I see a STAR VLTOR MOD stock for $50 though, is that any good? Sorry, I'm still not really sure as to why the MOD stocks would have difficult in battery installation. Not that I don't believe you, it just seems like its possible from the pictures... Ronan: This is just my first gun, and the battery newb thread recommends newbies not to use LiPo, I'm just not confident in my ability to run lipo yet just because I'm new. Also, the JG has a MOSFET in the buffer tube, which I'm fairly sure means I can't fit the lipo in there.

For your best bait, get a stock that comes with its own buffer tube and battery. More chance everything will fit. |

Ask KND what brand/model of crane stock he uses.
Keeps telling me it is a cheap one, but the fit and finish on it is better than most KA ones I have seen. And it holds a very large battery without any problem. He sold one to me and ordered a second one after. He probably know exactly what stock I am talking about. |

I just use a CTR stock with my reared wired JG hk416. I drilled a little hole at side of the stock to feed my wires through it. My battery goes into a gutted tm mag and is placed inside a mag pouch that attaches to the stock. Got the idea from this guy. You may want to check it out.
