Crane Stock Battery Recommendation

I recently got myself a HK417 style stock, it's the JG version. I am now at cheapbatterypacks and I'm still unsure if I should get a 2/3A sized cell pack or a Sub-C pack. Would either have a good fit or the Sub-C is too big?

I think that they're built for SubC sized cells. I know for a fact that the Hurricane HK417 stocks used SubC packs....couldn't comment for a clone/rebrand stock.

You should be able to measure the diameter of the openings...that'll give you a good guage. Somewhere on google (here on ASC too I think) is a list of the diameters/lengths of different batteries.

**and for a 417 stock...you'll want to get the lengths of wires between the packs just right...too short and they'll tear the packaging...too long and you'll find it tough to close the butt plate, cause it's tight with the 2 cell pack laying flat in the cavity.

The stock JG 416 battery is a Sub-C pack. An 8.4V sub-C pack fits perfectly. I'm sure a 9.6V would as well.

Currently, I have my 416 stock on my C8 and I run a 9.6V 2200 mAh crane stock battery made from 4/5A cells. The battery is loose in the cavities, but works great. A couple of pieces of foam prevent the batteries from rattling around.

Thank you, I'll probably get some SC.

Do you also know where I can get a stock tube that would allow me to pass my wires to the rear? My tube currently have no place to house the wires and I can't really find how to fit my cables so they the gun will be rear wired. My gun is currently front-wired.

The 8.4 subc battery that I received with my original 416 fit a little snug in the clone 417 style stock, although I simply attribute that to a poorly built stock. Then again it also fit a little snug in my hurricane 417 style stock, so actually it was just a crappy battery. Actually yes it was a craptastic battery. Anyways when I had my CBP 9.6 sub C I had no issues fitting in either stock...well actually it was still slightly snug in the clone 417 but not as bad as the original 8.4 china subc.

Save the weight, get an 11.1v LiPo tri-chuck battery. I love mine. If you get the thinner type (the first one I listed), they also fit in the handguards of an M4 or MP5 really nice:
