Although I have neither gun, I would guess there's no compatibility, based on real steel. In the real world, the UMP is a .45, and the MP5 is 9mm, 10mm, or .40.

I'm fairly certain they're not compatible.

As for a mod? Never heard of one

Would an MP5 mag even fit in a UMG well? Forget about the size of the real steel rounds, I think the banana mag would not want to go into the straight mag well.

He was using a UMP-9 (9mm). They also come in 40S&W (UMP-40) and .45ACP (UMP-45). All airsoft versions of the UMP are the UMP-45. The magwell is different. No conversion kit that I know of.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up.
