TLR-1 installation on SIG226R

Hi there.

I am running a TM SIG226R and a Streamlight TLR-1.

When I attach the TLR to my SIG, I simply slide it onto the M1913 Picatinny rail and tighten the numb on the side of the light.

But the TLR comes with keys for Glock-style, Beretta 90two, S&W 99, S&W and Picatinny. When I use the Picatinny key, it blocks the TLR from sliding all the way onto the SIG. Am I doing something wrong? Do you guys use the "key" or just leave it out?

I didn't have that problem with the P226 when I had it, though it was with the PGC kit.

I think I may just be doing something incorrect in the installation...does anyone have any experience with the TLR-1? please shoot me a PM with some help or post some pics. Would be much appreciate.

I have a TLR-1 and it mounts to both my TM G17 & P226 without sliding off.
Also, you cannot slide the TLR-1 into position with the key...it is not meant to slide on!
To install it properly, you must back off the spring loaded screw and press it in which opens up the clamp...then you mount it from the underside of rail!
You need to have the key installed in this position:

I actually just figured it out myself.

As mentioned above, instead of "sliding" the TLR on (without the key installed), you must first install the correct key, loosen the adjustment nob and push it to the side to give as much "space" as possible. Then you line-up the key and "snap" the light into place.

One quick question regarding the hex nut, do you screw that in without the bolt?

Without what bolt?

The little nut/bolt or whatever you want to call it that screw onto the hexkey to the left of the adjustment nob.

You may have installed the peice that screw goes into backwards......not allowing the unit to be installed.
